If I may, a few scenes from my youth, in part:

Disbelief

A terrifying snow-storm, outside.
Wintertime, and no place
for the faint-hearted.

There's a goodly supply
of food and water,
plus wood, for the stove.

Only zero, but after it's over,
it'll be forty below.
I remember, from my youth.

No fun, thawing
frost-bitten ears and nose --
slowly.

The Northern Lights
will be slowly ribbon-candying
across the sky.

All the colors of the rainbow,
but, with subdued intensity,
for the discriminating observer.

Multitudes of sparkling stars,
in the moon-struck snow --
reflecting those, frozen, above.

No global warming?
I can't believe it.
It's July, in North Dakota.

Trust Me!

Trust Me!
I, and my business advisors,
know more about how to run this country,
than even the president who was elected to office,
four times.

He relied too much on his wife.
How would a woman know anything
about Social Security, for instance?
It's bankrupt!
Pivatize it!

Just wait!

Brief Uit De Toekomst

Bomen, ze zijn zo mooi
De tweedimensionale lucht
Houdt wacht over hun kruinen

Het kleine houten huisje en zijn bewoner
Wachten op een teken van de voorbijganger,
Die net de vredesduif heeft gegroet

De wolken hebben de mist vervangen
Die tussen de takken sluimerde,
En de lucht was vrijgemaakt,
De kosmos kon terug ademen

Love me tender was een nummer

L.O.V.E.

I love the way you love me,

My baby

I like the way you touch me,

My baby

Stay with me, and I'll make you smile,
At least for a while

We belong together
We deserve happiness
We have a good thing going
We keep on going for that good thing
That's called L.O.V.E.

I take the life you give me,

My baby

And keep it going all day long

I keep the love around you,

My baby

And let it shine to the stars
Until they shine back

We belong together
We deserve happiness
We have a good thing going
We keep on going for that good thing
That's called L.O.V.E.

I hold my heart beside yours,

My baby

And let it beat, only for you

I'll hide you in my suitcase,

My baby

And travel the whole world through

L.O.V.E. is the word we say
L.O.V.E is the word today
L.O.V.E. between you and me

I'm Trying

Give me a little more time.
I'm trying.
It's scary, because it's a new experience.

Emotions must be wonderful,
but, I can't rush a relationship.
At least, we're texting, again.

Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Failure,
for you.

I couldn't make it,
after all.
I'm my own person.

If I want to date a married man,
that's my business,
and, not yours.

Besides,
he and I
are, also, coffee-mates.

What's wrong with that?

Uncried Tears

Imagine teardrops left uncried
From pain trapped inside
Waiting to escape
Through the windows of your eyes

"Why won't you let us out?
The tears question the conscience
"Relinquish your fears and doubts
And heal yourself in the process."

The conscience told the tears
"I know you really want me to cry
But if I release you from bondage,
In gaining your freedom you die."

The tears gave it some thought
Before giving the conscience an answer
"If crying brings you to triumph
Then dying's not such a disaster."

Do You Know?

Do you know
a good sorrow song?

Learn one --
and, sing it.

It might make everyone
feel better.

I search.

I search the heavens, although I am here.
For I cannot travel there, I feel I am near.
For there I have come from,
and for there I shall go.
When my time here is done, just when I don't know.

I feel that connection every time I do gaze
at the sun, or the moon through the dawn's early haze.
And I know that space is calling to me.
And I shall answer that call, when I cease to be.

And when that day comes, and I take my last breath
I shall travel to worlds I do not know of yet.
And I have faith they'll embrace me and welcome me home.
For, my friends, I am sure...
That we are not alone.

Sparkling Light

A sparkle of hope
In a sea of dispair
That's what you mean

A sparkle of light
In the vastness of space
That's what you are

A drop of respect
Falls on your wisdom
Which I admire so much

A drop of my tears
Rolls down your eyes
that see it all

A breeze of love
In your storm of anger
Is what I give to you

A breeze of joy
In my achy head
Is what I send to you

Sparkling light
That's what you are
That's what you mean
That's what I see
That's what you give
That's what you send to me

Wisdom and joy
Love and respect
You are
You mean

I see
We will give
That sparkling light
To you
To you

To you..

The New Seasons

A snowflake fell,
shattered,
and the Earth
shook.

The Earth shook,
because,
it was not ready
for its impact.

It was not ready
for the swirling multitude
of similarly-crafted
crystals --

which heralded the start
of the new seasons.
The new seasons --

each,
with its impossible beauty.

"The Final Fly"

The days are getting shorter
It’s a bitter dying light
As the final fly of summer
Takes a lonely winter flight
The things that once were lively
Are slowly finding death
The visitors are leaving
On the next train headed west
the coming days loom frigid
For the warmth forsaken soul
The closing theme is playing
In the lonely winter cold
Maybe some fine morning
Spring will come again
Till then darkness rules the winter
Goodbye to you my friend

To Turn the Sea

As usual,
ahead of me --

Without a word,
you turn the sea.

The words, I give,
explicitly --

I offer love,
to turn the sea.

BOTTOM’s UP (sound of sweetness)

See the light!
Morning bliss gives us new strength
To find another day in joy and happiness
To find another way to climb those mountains
From the bottom up to the top
Where nature shows its full force
The sound of sweetness in my ears
When nature is in good hands
The sound of sweetness in my ears
When you look into my eyes
The sound of sweetness in my ears
When children laugh in the woods
You’re beautiful!
You’re wonderful!
You’re the road
Sweetness in my ears
Sweetness in my ears
You’re laughing!
You’re dancing!
You’re the sound
In my ears
My ears...

Safehavens

Safehavens…
No stress
No pain
No sticky stuff
Real sticky icky icky
The thing that came over me,
Don’t know what it was
Safehavens…
No torture
No sin
No grey in between
That thing that came over me,
Don’t know what it was
Walking towards the safestay, down in South London,
Nearby the Elephant And Castle
Safehavens…
No suffocation
No hate
No sticks
Real sticky icky icky stuff
The thing that came over me
And I don’t know what it was
On the metro, towards Angel,
Heading on to Kings Cross
Safehavens…
No doubts
No confusion
No grey in between
That thing that came over me
And I don’t know what it was
Don’t know what it was…
No, I don’t know what it was
Don’t know what it was..
