In the UK it's Easter weekend. Today is Good Friday a Bank Holiday, Sunday is Easter Sunday, and the start of British Summer Time (clocks go forward), and then we have Easter Monday another Bank Holiday.

It's also Good Friday in the US. Some banks and government offices are closed, others are not. If my school weren't on spring break this week, there would be no school today (not because it's Good Friday, which would be government honoring a religious holiday, but just because the school board decided there would be no school -- Ya got that?!). Easter Monday is not common here any more. In fact, I only first heard of it a few years ago.

[edit]
Forgot to mention, the nose is a bit better this morning. Blood sugar is surprisingly normal (which means it was all converted to fat during the night :( ). But now I have a cough and sore throat. I take Zyrtec every day year-round. For me, it works better than Claritin.

Yes Bernie.

When they put the streamline cladding on the Mallard it reduced the power needed to push it through the air.

It was an impressive gain in speed, despite little or no knowledge of streamlining now test facilities in those pre-WWII days.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Winning. The nose is still running, but I'm starting to think it's just allergies after all.

Winning while getting ready to go sailing. I finally talked Allie in to giving it a try. :)

Posting from nice dry land, I can not swim.

I know how, but these days I don't trust my body to be able to save itself from drowning.

Are we in any danger of hitting the winning number while you're in transit?

Now I ponder - are Julie's kids as excited as she is about the plans for the weekend?

They do love to go to their granddad. They're quite spoiled over there:)

I was the same way Julie, I loved to go see the grand parents on either side, I got to see more of moms side than dads though, dad had a falling out with his dad, I don't know what granddad and dad were in disagreement about really, but then grandmother passed away when I was 8 and granddad when I was 9, he died of loneliness I was told and was otherwise healthy for an 82 year old.
