A very sad affair all round. Or the more apt quote "Don't shyte on your own doorstep". |

A very sad affair all round. She finished what he started, a lesson to all in politics, "Keep your noses clean"....but are they listening? Going back to the title of this thread, it sis a lose/lose situation for everybody. Huhne was generally considered to be a good Minister, and a hard working MP, so the government and Eastleigh lose out. Vicky Pryce decided to ruin her husbands career when she found out about his affair. She took the risk that she herself would also end up in prison. I hope she thinks it was worth it. Their family has certainly lost with both parents in jail. A very sad affair all round. |

There is no point in dragging all this up again, it was done to death at the time. The vast majority of MP's worked within the rules as they were at the time. Those that didn't were brought to book. Whether it was morally right for some of the rest to have claimed certain expenses, even though it was within the rules, was a matter for their own consciences, and some repaid without being asked. The Speakers Office was also open to criticism, and quite rightly so. The Telegraph was right to print what it did. |

50 MP's repaid expenses that upon re-examination shouldn't have been claimed. A nice way of putting it over, "Shouldn't have been claimed". To think that these poor soles did not realise this at the time????? what silly clots they were. In Parli-talk this is what they say, "I made an error of judgement" The Kite Fliers -------------------- Kite fliers: An imaginary club of solo members, those who don't yet belong to a formal team so "fly their own kites" - as the saying goes. |

As far as is known, 50 MP's repaid expenses that upon re-examination shouldn't have been claimed. Repaid The remaining 600 were considered not to be in breach of the rules. Overview I don't excuse what went on, it shouldn't have, simple. Things have now changed because they needed to. Well done the Telegraph! |

Good, now all we need to see is those caught fiddling their expenses also doing some "porridge". Hmm??...don't think we have enough spare places in prison for the other 600 M.P's!!
