If I have 4 projects, each with a share of 100% and only 2 are active, do the two remaining projects each get a 50% share.

And if 3 are active do each get 33%?

Surely the answer to this question must be online somewhere but I can't find it.

Thanks

Resource shares are relative to all other resource shares. If you have 4 projects each with a resource share of 100, they will get 25% of the resources each over the long term. (100 / (100 + 100 + 100 + 100). Note the "long term in the previous sentence. Resource shares are enforced by disallowing work fetch from projects that have gotten more than their share of work done recently.

The general formula for resource fraction is Resource share for project / Sum(all resource shares for all projects attached to the computer). So, if you had 3 projects with resource shares of 500, 250, and 250 they would get resource usage of 50%, 25% and 25%. Similarly for resource shares of 20, 10, and 10.

Note that non-computation intensive projects do not count resource usage.

Note that resource share of 0 has a special meaning (do not fetch unless the computer is out of work).

Where do I change the resource share times? For some reason, I can't find it anywhere.
