I like the fries at Culver's...
They tend to be on the fat side, unlike the skinny little things they serve up at MacDonalds.

I like a fat fry.

Fat is good. Greasy is not.

I totally agree. I avoid grease as much as I can!

Message 1364100 - Posted: 3 May 2013, 20:06:55 UTC

I learned something last night.

The downtown Naperville businesses had a Teacher Appreciation thing for all employees of the two school districts in town. Quigley's Irish Pub was offering by far the best deal, 50% off food, so I decided to check out some stuff I wouldn't ordinarily eat, especially at their prices. (I had shepherd's pie and didn't like it, but that's not the main thing I learned.)

Along with my dinner, I ordered a Glenlivet 12-year on the rocks. At first it was okay, but every sip tasted worse and I left at least half of it on the table.

Then I had to wait 20 minutes for my bill and another 20 for a corrected bill with the discount also applied to the dessert. The tip I left corresponded.

A nice Chinese or Indian, with a bit of spicy bite, is superb for an evening meal (on a bed of rice) ...

The weekend so far: well, if I had to cut the grass (I did), 62F and overcast is good weather to do it in.

I get to go test drive a new car with Lori.

Oh, Joy.

She does need a new car. Her '94 Celica is gonna have the wheels fall off one day soon.

She wants a Nissan Rouge.

Yeah, 62F isn't bad, if I had a lawn to mow, I'd have to power up the robot, here it's just rocks and weeds...

She wants a black Red?

BTW, this cafe appears to be about at its maximum legal occupancy. I hope the proprietor is preparing to open the doors of a new little bistro so the doors of this one can be locked.

Long way off max legal, but it could do with a spring clean John.

Oh, okay. I just didn't want to see everyone sent out into the street with nowhere to go. But if the code inspector says everything is fine, then carry on.

Hopefully a spring clean and restock will come in the next few days. But, as Julie started this while I was absent in Hospital, I have asked her to let me know her thoughts.

Until then we can dream of -

If the Spring/Summer Cleaning and Refurb takes too long, we can all hang out at that pub down the road from John's house.....

Or ask Angela if we can set up a barbee and a portable bar in the Critter Cafe...
