I am looking forwards to getting my strength back fully by May, and have a 250 mile car journey for good beer and a 5 to 6 mile walk. When all that happens I know I have returned properly ... It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

I just hate to see someone drinking alone, but now John has a drinking companion I'm not able to join him and drink with him, so what do I do...... Hi Arizona, John Good to see you both. Especially you, Arizona, as I haven't seen you around here for some time. Do you mind if i join you for a few minutes? Excuse me eating breakfast - I've got to head off soon to see what delights work is going to throw in my direction today (after I've enjoyed the pleasure of the M42 and M6...) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Having used the 405 when was over in LA, I'd say "similar, but different". in both cases too many vehicles for the amount of tarmac, and the "locals" wanting to get there NOW, with the odd bemused tourist thrown in for good measure. The 405 has wider lanes and more of them (most of the way) - the M42 is only 2 lanes (or at least the bit I use) and the interchange between the M42 and the M6 can be "quite exciting" if there is no traffic around, but in the rush hour you can't have any fun unless its avoiding the truck that decides to drift across - taking minutes to do so because forward motion is so slow... Ah well, shower and out to the delights, M42 here we come. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Yeah well Caltrans is adding 2 car pool lanes to the 405 around the Sepulveda Pass area, which means new on/off ramps and new bridges, plus new temporary headaches... At least they are ADDING lanes, over here they just get the paint and cameras out and reduce the number of available lanes and take pictures (until the cameras get "improved by removal"/"aka stolen") Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I've just noticed - today is the tenth anniversary of me joining S@H. Which is as good an excuse as any for a "little" party down here. Drinks/food anyone? Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
