Hehehe. As a kid my mum used to put raisins into salads bowls, and me and my brother used to call them rabbit droppings!

Peanut butter is going the same way as crisps (potato chips). Now you get smooth, crunchy, semi crunchy, and all flavours under the sun. Its getting as hard to find ordinary plain peanut butter as ordinary plain crisps. As Uli knows ;-)

I like chips but can't eat them anymore, I can't have salt at all with this Med. problem.

I practically never put salt in my food, too unhealthy...

Peanut butter on celery??? You aren't in the family way are you?

Chris, celery stuffed with peanut butter is a pretty common snack for children on this side of the pond. If you put raisins on top of the celery, it is called "ants on a log".

Just for kids?? I like them too.

Only with eggs here, there should be enough salt in most foods already and that includes peanut butter.

A certain amount of salt is required in the diet. However, the amount of salt in processed foods is vastly greater than the amount required.

Yep, no doubt about that, that's probably cause the ant-acid people want to sell more pills, maybe...

Salt makes you thirsty. That's why bars put out bowls of pretzels, popcorn, salted nuts, chips. Sell more drinks that way.

Good to be back, One long day in the hospital.
Your right on the salt, I'm living proof of over use and now I'm paying for it.

After years of adding no salt at all (or very little, if absolutely necessary for chemical purposes in a recipe) due to my mother's medical condition, I'm starting to add a little bit when I think the food needs it. But I still brush it off of my french fries.

Forgot to add, I rarely have fries. Trying to avoid or alleviate medical conditions of my own. Anyway, I'm not all that fond of them. They are a form of useless calories that I can live without. (Chocolate cake, otoh...) (Or doesn't chocolate cake count as useless?)

Always with mayonnaise, curry ketchup and onions over here. We call it 'a friet special'

The only thing I see is most chips aren't stronge enough for dipping peanut butter unlike cream cheese or onion dip.
