That is a good thing. Commercial peanut butter is up to 2% hydrogenated oil stabilizer that prevent the separation.

On my first boat, in the mid-1970s, on long runs we carried PB in #6 cans (about the size of a 1-pound jar). One time I caught a messcook about to throw away 4 cans that had started to separate. He thought it was bad. I told him to get a knife and stir it back in. Probably saved his butt (Leading cook was my roommate back in Pearl). As I recall, it took him a loooooooong time to qualify.

OK. The guy I was talking about was about 20 years older than that.

I like peppers very much and use them all the time mild or hot it doesn't matter. But the ones that are so hot the rip out your mouth I stay away from.
