That would not be a quote from Jefferson. Nor is any of the quotes I have posted---random. All have a point pertinent to the subject at hand. |

thought you could use a few more random quotes that pretty much are pointless In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Sarge, good point, but you have to admit there are some wild thinkers in this scientific project. I guess that is one of the things which makes SETI so cool. |

"Ignorance is preferable to error, and he is less remote from the truth who believes nothing than he who believes what is wrong." You act as if the S@H fora are the only places you can find these. This also is a novel idea. At least when these ideas are espoused by people you know offline, there is opportunity for discussion and the finding of common ground. Even friendship. Such possibilities here are few and far between. |

Not sure I've seen anybody +1 their own post before, is this an indication of dissociative identity disorder? Perhaps, or perhaps he is beginning to question his own belief system. Oh wait, that would be DID wouldn't it? Never mind.

"Ignorance is preferable to error, and he is less remote from the truth who believes nothing than he who believes what is wrong." Just a new concept based in creativity. The more ID posts the more we know about him, I enjoy the novel ideas. |

"Ignorance is preferable to error, and he is less remote from the truth who believes nothing than he who believes what is wrong." That is like trying to justify that a stopped clock is more accurate than one running slow. Because the stopped clock is correct twice a day. |

It's called grasping at straws. He's pulling up old political figures that have nothing to do with modern genetic theory or Evolution and transplanting their words into some chimera of a plan perhaps intelligent but most certainly meandering In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. I.D. Please can you state where you are coming from? In your earlier arguments you made lots of quotes from the federalist papers and especially James Madison, who today would be a Democrat. But now you are quoting lots of Thomas Jefferson (Republican) who was an anti-federalist. I am confused, unless all you think, is that anything before 1900 is good and everything after is bad. |

"Ignorance is preferable to error, and he is less remote from the truth who believes nothing than he who believes what is wrong." A case for agnosticism/atheism? Surely not :) I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...
