We have a growing population of sheep in our nation. We do need anti sheep classes in every grade. Teach them that no one gives a rats ass about them. No bureaucrat. No government. No God. The only person that cares about you is yourself. There is no entitlement. So if you want to wallow in self pity expect to be very hungry and die early.

We lost our protections against warrantless searches, before Obama. We resume our fight to maintain the seperation of church and state.. with Obama. We resume our fight for equality, with Obama. There is much to do. But as I said, there is still hope. I had none with Dubya. Remember that "Love it or leave it" stuff you used to give back in the 60' and 70's? Well SEE YA!! We like it here. Let me inject a little humour here, LOL.. Please do. Laughter may be the only thing that will save us. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." Albert Einstein "With cats." kittyman

But then we elected Obama and Obama has proven time and time again his disregard for the constitution. I am going overboard? I don't think so. I have expressed some rather heartfelt sentiments about him and the direction I fear this country is going. They may not be popular opinions, but they are mine. I won't apologize for that. And as I stated earlier, just shy of half of the voters in the country agree with me at some level. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." Albert Einstein "With cats." kittyman

One thing this year no raise in SS.... That is a bureaucratic function, and we can thank the Fed for that. Of course we will have inflation numbers to put Ford and Carter to shame in short order.

But then we elected Obama and Really?!! A demand that the president can raise the debt ceiling without the a bill originating in the House of Representatives? You have read the constitution haven't you? Bills pending to repeal the fourth amendment protection against unreasonable search and seizure? And you think it is getting better?!!!

You know, I too had thoughts that this country was done for. It had tryrants for leaders, who destroyed and suspended the constitution, made it unbearable for decent people to live their lives free. They destroyed the hopes and dreams of millions, and built things to suit themselves with no thought of the common person. I was ready to move south to find a safe place. But then we elected Obama and a glimmer of hope returned. Much still needs fixed, but it was a start. Janice |

Waiting with guns drawn? Your belief in democracy, the constitution and the concept of civil governance is truly heartwarming. Now go sit in the corner and allow the grown ups to run the country. Mark I really do think you are pushing the point too hard. Politicians are politicians, irrespective of party and no matter which party is in charge things never really change much. If you could jump to an alternate reality where McCain had won in 2008 and had just been re-elected for his second term, apart from The Daily Show having a ball with Sarah Palin jokes I doubt you would notice much difference. Government debt would be about the same as would unemployment. The GOP might have even made some sort of move on public health care. America's problems did not appear out of thin air when Obama got elected and there is no magic spell to solve them overnight. The true government of the US resides in Wall Street, not DC. I do so love this song....... And this version.......so proudly and so beautifully sang. I dunno sometimes, I just don't. My dad came from Germany. My mum from the northern Dutchlands. And yet I connect with those south of the Mason Dixon line. Y'all know who I am gonna draw my guns with. Some of us are STILL not ready to play nice. And never will. Not ever. And let's not forget that almost half of this nation agreed with me on the election. We stood, we fought. We lost. But our battle is not over yet. Almost half the nation is still waiting...................... With their guns drawn. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." Albert Einstein "With cats." kittyman

And screw the liberals who made the move from the cafe to the politics thread possible. Yeah, hide it from the mainstream. That's what you always try to do. Make maximum advantage of your powers. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." Albert Einstein "With cats." kittyman

When it happens, and it will..... Just remember it was this wide eyed northern boy that went off to the south to fight the war. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." Albert Einstein "With cats." kittyman

and there are some things I must say before it fades. Unllike our friends in southern territories, I was born way up north here in Wisconsin one cold and wintry day. So, I can't say where these thoughts come from. Or maybe I can..... Over the years, 55 going on 56, I guess I have been taught a few things. The South had a point. Not slavery, my friends, but freedom form tyranny. The form that almost half of our country tried to vote out this last election. Yes, His presidency is tyranny.......of the worst kind, as it is cloaked in secrecy, distrust, and robbery. Well, I guess that was the content of my dream..... Or, shall we call it a nightmare? I guess during the course of these writings, I have remembered why and how I came to believe how I do. And why it is rooted so far south of the borders I was born in. And why...this was the song I heard so vividly in my dreams. I sang Dixie....... I cried too, when this last election was bought from the true folks of our liberty by the ones who splashed more cash and lies. This country shall reap what it has sown. You can't get the greatness we have once known by reinvesting in a man who does not believe in God, and wants to take all from those who do and give it all to those who don't. There, I said it. Long fly the flag of our liberty. And, my friends, it is NOT the one flying in Washington these days. I believe....honestly believe....There is another civil war coming.......cuz, the South's gonna do it again. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow."
