...we're an island...thank gawd!

....plus we ain't in the Euro hence looking for someone to blame for our
sorry plight...someone to blame other than ourselves who would actually
be the real ones to blame here. Time all other struggling ECM countries came to
realise this fact for it's you and your governments who are at blame here and
not that of Germany's.

That maybe Nick, but you seem to have forgotten this from episode 1......

"For us, Europe is not only our destiny but also our desire. It is the lesson we learnt. Please understand for us Europe is much more than a currency or a single market... It is a political union we want."

Mr Westerwelle...if he was to get his hands on it all then it will be a broken
Europe he will end up with, unfortunately for him it wont contain the UK.

If this isn't a wake up call, WTH is?

Could Germany spark another war?

Before Sir Humphrey sticks his oars in regarding the "Waily Fail", note that the events mentioned in the report were broadcast internationally by various news agencies, including our own Baghdad Broadcasting Company.

I just LOVE the comments at the end by the general Public!

This is one of the silliest articles I've have ever read in what is at the best of times an extremely silly newspaper.

- China Rick , Beijing, China, 13/3/2013 09:50

And from a German!

Well, I guess it is so easier to blame Germany than to realise the own failures. It is not Germanys fault that the mediterranean countries lived beyond their means. If you borrow money from a bank, sooner or later the bank wants its money back and if you can't pay the bank imposes warranties. In this case the german taxpayer acts as bank for the european debtors, but as the indebted countries are not able to pay it back, the sponsor demands saving measure. Simple as that! I don't know why southern countries don't understand the simple rules of finance business.

I said stop doing that! Yes I have to agree.

However, even though the "Waily Fail" does tend to exagerate & slant the stories to their views, the fact remains that these events are occurring & to make matters worse.....

...Europe's food crisis

"Yves Daccord, of the charity’s International Committee, said its food distribution had not been as high since the end of the Second World War.

He added: ‘We are now seeing for the first time that the Red Cross in several European countries need to focus on the poor in their own country, much more than on external missions outside Europe.

'We are giving out more food in Europe than at any time since the end of WW2.'"

Another wake up call, or is the Red Cross exagerating?

Edit: One thing we can be sure of....

There'll never be a "Brussels or indeed another Berlin Air-Lift"!

Edit 2: Hmmmn, most thought that it would be one of the PIIGS being the cause of the EU breaking up by their exit......

Which is why the EU is bailing out countries like Portugal, Spain Greece, Italy etc. If they didn't, not only would the Red Cross be even more pressured, we could see mass migration of the poorest to the richer countries like France and Germany. Could their infrastructures cope with it? We are already seeing mass influxes from Eastern Europe viz Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia etc which are stretching the rest of Europe. We even had the infamous Sangatte refugee camp closed in 2002.

Late edit

The blockade of Berlin was finally lifted by the Soviets on May 12, 1949. Berlin became a symbol of the United States resolve to stand up to the Soviet threat without being forced into a direct conflict.

Very much the UK stance to stand up to Brussels in the same way.

It does have a very good on-line website, I agree.

"It seems the Tories are the Titanic and the Lib Dems the iceberg. Its only matter of time."

Can we get a bit realistic about the facts please.

But yesterday, the European parliament in Strasbourg passed a wrecking resolution was passed by 506 to 161 - including 12 Lib Dems.

Hardly an iceberg, more a ice cube.

You call wasting taxpayers money an ice cube? Typical retort from a politico!

It meant that it has to be thrashed out again in May/June, another little jolly ice cube to pop into their G & T's!

I also stated a comment, nowhere did I say it was mine!

Well exactly, all your posts are usually quoting other peoples views. The day we get a home grown Sirius quote, Suidae will likely turn to aviation :-)

For those of you that may agree with Sir Humphrey....

With all the austerity measures supposed to be in place within the Eurozone, unelected thieves want to increase the troughs as there is more & more snouts wishing to particpate......

...Dissention in the EU ranks?

No slanted Waily Fail here just the Baghdad Broadcasting Company at work - Frannce & UK to ignore EU rulings?

Hey del-boy, I thought the coffers were empty, just who is going to pay for those arms?

The Torch has been lit - Will this torch become more famous than the Olympic one?

Beginning to look that way......

I suspect so. Brussels is calling for more integration but when you read
through their meaning of this they are clearly indicating that much of this
is to do with centralisation. Centralisation means physically taking from one
country and moving it to another "The country of centralisation". When this has
been achieved, across the board, then no one country can then leave the ECM and hope
to survive on it's own.
