I had similar thing on Vista. After a lot of nagging from windows update I accepted the WDDM1.1 installation package. The operation failed with an error code. I seems I already had a newer version from Nvidia than what MS was proposing. Microsoft Fix:it got Windows update sorted out. |

Thanks for the info, i imagine something like that, but don´t try. Just a warning, rememeber, the windows instaler does not make a clean instalation of the driver, just put over the old one, a lot of problems could apears because of that. Specialy for crunching, is allways better to avoid that and allways install your driver from a clean instalation (DL from NVidia/ATI Site). |

I have 2 PCs which have Nvidea graphics cards fitted. On Friday, one of them (a windows 7 machine) found about 18 microsoft updates and without thinking I told it go ahead and install the updates. only fater they installed did I realise one of hem was the nvidea driver. Fortunately all was OK. My other PC (which runs vista) found the updates on Saturday and also installed them all. However in this case, despite trying 3 times the driver update failed to install. Fortunately it does not seem to have damaged the previously installed version and I have now told windows updates not to notify me of this driver update anymore. |

Anyway is better to make a clean reinstalation of the Nvidia Driver (downloading from the NVidia Site), you never know when ou whow the trouble with a driver could start. |
