Message 1306534 - Posted: 15 Nov 2012, 19:24:03 UTC - in response to Message 1306516.

Made some couscous last weekend with chicken and wok vegetables. Must say the kids loved it.

I'm sure, I like it too. I have had it in many ways but it's a good standby when your feeding the kids. (well that was 45 years ago now) :) I had a lot of fun with a wok and made a lot in the back yard because it was a flame thrower. LOL

Mac and Cheese or chili Mac were both a big hit with my kids. I myself still like it.

I must say my kids like a lot of stuff, especially my youngest. They don't like spicy and Mexican food though.

My Mother said eat a bit at a time and to blow on the amount one has on their fork or spoon to cool off the food, it works. There is nothing wrong with Mexican food, I could think of food that they'd never eat, like a "bug"...

Mexican food I love big time, that is my number one choice of any foods. Hot or not I'll eat it.

Me too. There's a great Mexican place in Brussels. I once went there with some colleagues of mine. Can't cook it at home though due to the children:(

What made the children dislike it? Any idea? As their missing out on some good food...
As not all Mexican type food is spicy or flaming hot...

I know. Tried to let them eat some 'mild' Mexican food several times but they just don't like it, both of them and as I recall, Oonah didn't like it either.

Well it was garlic salt or garlic butter, one or the other was in powdery form and a yellow color, made the normal tart tasting sprouts quite tasty, I really don't know which it was n the garlic as My Brother last cooked the brussels sprouts that way in late 2003, do its been about 9 years...

Most of the time I use butter and salt but garlic sounds like a nice twist, I never done that. I just got some yesterday I'll give it a try. Since I live alone I'm the only taste tester in the house.

I also cook totally different food sometimes than my mother used to cook. For example, she never made brocolli and I make it all the time.
