Sorry Iona, wrong. I happen to know for sure that he lives next door to me. Every morning one of my neighbours daughters always beats him to the bathroom. After about 1/2 an hour he bangs on the door and shouts "God! are you still in there?"

Why would God Have to hide at all. Whats wrong with just moving some where else after 5 years or so. That way no one would ever see you not age.

Maybe folks join a monastery for the same reasons they join the French Foreign Legion.

The same thought crossed my mind too. But you would have to keep doing that for hundreds or thousands of years, it would be real difficult and eventually someone might notice. So its easier to hide by having a closed order monastery and nobody will ever bother you. They will just think you are monks praying to God. After all, nobody ever actually saw God. He always kept his face hidden when he spoke to people.

I found a monastery in the Kidron valley near Jerusalem. Its called "Mer Saba";

Yes, i am posting this "God is a monk" theory in a kind of light hearted way. Its partly for fun, but there is a serious side to the theory too!

Yes, i do admit i have little or no evidence for this particular theory. Its mostly speculation. But at the same time, the back bone of the theory is valid.

Its highly plausible that this guy called God or Yahweh who was interacting with the Israelites thousands of years ago is still hanging around somewhere. We know about all the planets in our solar system and the Earth is the only one that can easily sustain abundant life. So he must be still here!! Hiding!!

So if God/Yahweh is still around, and his buddy Jesus, they are both living in a monastery somewhere, most probably in close proximity to Jerusalem. Now i did some nosing around, and apparently the Book of Revelation says Jesus is coming back. It says just before Jesus returns, there will be a 2 million man army troop build up in Megiddo, north of Jerusalem. Megiddo is the famous site where the battle of Armageddon will take place.

But here is the catch. The battle is fought in Megiddo, but then the Book of Revelation goes on to say that Judgement day will happen further south in Jerusalem itself in a place called "Kidron Valley" on the edge of Jerusalem. I'm willing to bet that there is a monastery somewhere in that Kidron valley and this bloke called God/Yahweh, and Jesus are hanging out there!!

The Jews call Kidron valley "The valley where God will judge."

I've been chatting to John for a few years now both on and off the boards, and we both agree that we probably were visted by ET in the past. Where we differ is the timescales. I think maybe 13,000BC and probably earlier, he thinks 4000BC. We completely disagree about God, but I've never known him go quite as overboard as this monastery thing, all a bit odd.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of whether this poster 100% genuinely believes in what he is saying, in which case, my comments and those of others, are valid. Or whether this has been a gigantic windup, and we've all, including me, have been taken for a long ride. I think the jury is still out.

So i gave this a lot of thought.

That is your problem, you think too much, go round in circles, and tie yourself in knots.

No you wouldn't. Most people wouldn't be so nosy in the first place and would mind their own business.

You really are getting desperate to get our attention, peddling this sort of stuff. Get out more, find some friends, get a social life. You'll end up being sectioned one day if you carry on like this.

Ok, i know some of you already think i'm a lunatic. But after i tell you my latest theory, your really going to assign me to the luni bin. This is my latest theory!

Monks in monasteries are hiding ET/God/Yahweh!! This is one possible result from my research! Now hold your horses before jumping to any immediate conclusions! Let me explain the theory!

If you read the Bible stories, "God" is always interacting with the various prophets in the bible stories. He does this over thousands of years, its always the same guy! His Hebrew name is Yahweh. His name only got translated to "God" when they translated the bible into English.

In John 14:9, Jesus says: “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father". So this means "God" is a flesh and blood human being, just like Jesus.

So God is an immortal human being, just like us!! He looks exactly like us, in every way, so says the Book of Genesis. So how would you know this immortal God person if you walked past him in the street. Answer - You wouldn't!! If this immortal God person walked past you in the street, you wouldn't know who he was. You would just think he is the same as any other person you normally see in the street! In fact, even though he is very old, he would look young because he is immortal! This guy is not getting old!

But there is a big problem with Immortality!! Where do you live and where do you hide?

So i gave this a lot of thought. If the man living next door to you doesn't seem to be ageing over the years, you would get very suspicious, you might alert people. So an immortal person would have to live some where that he is not drawing attention to himself, so people don't notice over long periods of time that this guy is not getting older.

But you would also need a close circle of people around you that know your immortal and they can go out in public to do daily chores like shopping and stuff. But the mortal people who do your daily chores would have to be able to keep your existence a secret. The mortals who know your secret would have to take religious vows that they can never tell anyone the secret!

So where could an immortal person live today, without being noticed, and without drawing too much attention to himself? And still be able to practise the religion that he actually started himself thousands of years ago? And be protected by mortal men that take religious vows? And this immortal guy would still need to live a normal life and enjoy nature?

Answer - In a monastery!! He would have to hide in a monastery.

Especially monks in monasteries that are "closed orders". Closed order monasteries are very reluctant to let anyone join the order. Now why is that i wonder?

Now why would anyone in their right mind lock themselves away from society, and become a monk, to become closer to God, and stop interacting with society? Answer - Because they are hiding something!!! I'm real suspicious of monks!

Monks in monasteries are hiding this immortal God person called Yahweh!! And God, or Yahweh, looks exactly the same as YOU. With one exception, he is immortal and he doesn't get old!! There are closed orders of Monks in every single country on Earth!! This is where "God" or "The Gods" are hiding!! Right under everyone's noses all the time and nobody ever batted an eyelid!!

"God" is still with us today......he never left!! He is hiding as a Monk in a monastery!
