You wrap waffle cookies around it to make ice cream cones.

It can also be used in a chinoise (a cone shaped strainer) to push foods through the strainer.

And we have a winner.

It is a Krumkake cone roller.

Thank you for the win! I actually do have something in mind that might stump one or two of you. I will try to remember to take a picture of it tonight when I get home. I just don't have all that many single purpose pieces of equipment in my kitchen. For day to day cooking at least, I find I don't need much more than a knife and a wooden spoon!

My wife made me promise to bury her with her two Cuisinarts. A big one and a mini. One or the other is used several times a week here. Did I mention I need to go on a diet?

Of course, if I go first, I will buried with a Dremel and my trusty EA6B. Oh, and my Swiss Army knife.

I would bequeath my Swiss Army Knife to my son (or Grandson if there is one at that point).

One Christmas I bought my wife the ultimate Cuisinart. The big stainless one with all the options. She never took it out of the box. It's still in the pantry.

@Bill - I am surprised to hear that Ann likes her mini-Cuisinart. I had a mini for a short time and found it to be annoying. Too much washing for simply chopping one onion... I do like my big Cuisinart though. I am on my second one! And as for weight gain, I've put 60 pounds on Eric in the 20 years I've known him. I challenge Ann to top that!!!

@John - Not to a daughter or to a granddaughter?

I'm with you, Janice! I LOVE my standing mixer!!! Very few appliances get to stay out on my kitchen counter top permanently, but that (and my Cuisinart) are there to stay!

Ok cooking friends, I purchased this wicked implement of torture in 1989 and it has served me well over the years.
Sometimes I even travel with it, but never in my carry-on luggage!!!

What is its purpose and how does it work?

Oh and I love your gold pumpkin. I have a few that didn't fully ripen in time so I painted them gold also.

Oh but there's a whole story there. The pitch, tooth, hook, set and kerf all tell a little bit about what it's made for.

Thank you. I wish I could take credit for that, but a family friend brought it to our annual family Halloween party as a hostess gift. She is very clever.

If nobody guesses correctly in a day or two, I will post a close-up picture as a hint.
