]Four Americans died in Benghazi. I suppose you could reduce the seriousness of that by just calling it four extremely late abortions. -1 I guess, with you, it depends on what the meaning of "abortion" is, eh? You sound like Clinton. Disgusted. |

Four Americans died in Benghazi. We've done such a great job in the past at choosing our friends (anybody remember our buddy from the 80s, named Saddam Hussein?). Heaven forbid we hang back a bit now and wait a little while to see who our friends should be. Here, Guy, I have a cake you can admire forever but eat, too. All it will cost you is 99% of what you're not currently making in taxes. |

I'm trying to figure out what that means. You might want to refigure that one out, in context, redefiner. In the meantime, may the odds be ever in your favor. |

They'll be funding it once they're annexed Oh no, you guys are going to try it again? The last time all you got was your capital city burned down, and poor old Dolly Madison had to take the low road out of town. Don’t forget that back then you didn’t have Big Ootpix to help you. |

My kids were loyal and totally enjoyed that program to no end. PBS is the most useful thing on TV bar none. |

This has been taken out of context. And has been way overblown. If Big Bird has to be taken off of the welfare roles, so must many other 'little thingys'. Some stated that this could not possibly make a dent. But, the point is, lots of little dents start to add up to make a big hole. That's all Romney was saying. Just one dent......Obama has not made one yet. At least not in the budget. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

The problem with Romney's attack on PBS and NPR in part is this. When asked for specifics in terms of cutting expenditures, this was the ONLY specific he offered. Nearly all of Romney's budget and tax proposals lack specifics because either they simply don't add up, or they would offend some folks whose votes he wants. So Romney avoids specifics because he (and his campaign) believe that the electorate is foolish enough to think they won't get screwed by his policies. Of course another of Romney's approaches, is to offer a 'position of the moment' and regularly change that position. I suspect the theory here is to get votes from people who like each of his contradictory positions and not notice the positions have changed (and will change again and again). When Democrats attack Romney on one of his few specifics, that only encourages Romney to avoid any specifics on the theory (I guess) that what the voters don't know, they won't vote against. |

This has been taken out of context. %age of federal budget spent on public broadcasting is < .1 That's a lot of little dents to make even a small hole ... I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

This has been taken out of context. You have to start somewhere, now don't you? Granted, there needs to be a trillion more dents. PBS was just a talking point, my friend. Big Bird is not gonna die. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I agree there are places to start -- defense would be one. I suspect TSA might be another. There should be cuts in entitlements -- including entitlements to the very wealthy. |

My idea for cutting the defense budget is closing all our military bases in Europe. Why are we even there? Seems that most of the Europeans Dont even like us, so lets bring the troops home. One of the gripes about the Iraq and Afghan wars was our combat troops rotated to many times in and out of combat while we had troops sitting in Europe still fighting off the Warsaw pact. We have troops sitting in South Korea also. Though technically we are still at war with the North. It is just a truce after all. But still Id bring them home too. The South Korean army is more than capable of defending them selves. Wonder how much money that would save? [/quote] Old James |
