I will say the splitters are doing a remarkable job of keeping up with the shorty storm. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

Not that I need any, or run much at all here on main nowadays, but has there been any explanation to why not one new AP have been split for more than 3 weeks now? Yes. ![]() |

Maybe they are running them down so that they can get rid of all those stuck results and maybe put a better fix in place to stop them happening again. Cheers. |

Not that I need any, or run much at all here on main nowadays, but has there been any explanation to why not one new AP have been split for more than 3 weeks now? I've heard before that there's some command or script that they can run which resets the transitioner status on ALL WUs back to a state where it has to basically start as if it is a fresh new WU, then will see that several have been reported, try to validate, then move on to purge. That's supposed to happen automatically when the last report deadline happens, but it doesn't seem to quite work that way. Shortie storm? The UPS on my 24 cores box is showing reduced power usage. So it looks like there are plenty of shorties to go around right now. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours ![]() |

Is anyone able to contact the Scheduler at the moment? For the last 5 hours the only response i've got from the Scheduler is that timeout was reached. Grant Darwin NT |

And to go with the lack of Scheduler responses, upload speeds are very, very, very slow. And it can take a couple of attempts for a result to finally upload. Grant Darwin NT |

My machine have mostly: Scheduler request failed: Timeout was reached The last well contact (BOINC got all needed infos from the server) was at 05:31 UTC - and my machine got 1 re-sent WU. In the online host/tasks overview are WUs which are not yet in BOINC. So much re-sent WUs will come down soon - or later. I guess overloaded scheduler server with too much BOINC requests currently. And overloaded internet connection of S@h because of AstroPulse WU downloads. * Best regards! :-) * Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. * Optimize your PC for higher RAC. * SETI@home needs your help. * ![]() |

Yup..... APs appear to be back in play and they are really trashing comms again. The kitties are having timeouts, no connects, and HTTP internal server errors when trying to upload, download, or report work. We need MORE BANDWIDTH. Or at least, better utilization of what we have available. I know Brad at GPUUG is working on some projects that may help these problems in the future, but for now, the kitties are as flummoxed as the rest of you. Please do what you can to support the GPUUG fundraisers as Brad posts them. He is in very close contact with Eric and staff as to what they need. I still prefer a straight Seti donation. Call me old fationed. Pluto will always be a planet to me. ![]() Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

I still prefer a straight Seti donation. Call me old fationed. Certainly nothing wrong with that either, Uli. LOL...Cash is king, as they say. The GPUUG route does target items that the boyz in da lab have spec'd out and designated as priority. And the GPUUG helps handle the purchase and shipping of such items, rather than the lab having to go through Berk channels to cut purchase orders and such. Really more efficient for the project. It also does give folks the knowledge of exactly what their donation is being spent on, rather than going into a general fund. I still prefer a straight Seti donation. Call me old fationed. Both direct donations to SETI and via the GPUUG are equally important. We just focus on specific hardware that may be needed for A or B which frees up direct cash donations for other avenues. But agreed, more bandwidth would solve an enormous load of problems. ![]() Executive Director GPU Users Group Inc. - brad@gpuug.org |

I've been finding all day that even though I'm receiving internal http errors and timeouts on my end, the database has been showing that I've reported the results but I'm just not receiving the acknowledgement back from the servers. Cheers. |
