It seems the person that made the movie is a known criminal and mislead the actors involved as to what the purpose of the project was.

From what I heard on the morning news it was an Eygptian who is a Christian who made it.
Id like to know why we are getting blamed for it. Sounds like a setup to me. They cant get to us directly so the do an endrun to stir the pot. As a nation maybe we should just bite the bullet on oil and say the hell with the rest of the world. Pull our troops home and let the Mid east eat and drink their oil.

To start No religious flaming or name calling. Please attempt to keep posts fairly on topic. wandering is ok as long as we lead back to the topic at hand.

This is about the supposed movie produced by some unknown persons. Is this movie really worthy of protest? Has anyone really seen it? Are the reactions to this movie far overblown?

To be honest the first I heard of it was from the protests overseas. It seems to me that someone or some group is intentionally attempting to bring unrest in the middle east. It clearly isnt the movie since only a few people have seen the whole movie.

So how did a cutrate poorly acted and poorly done movie create such a firestorm? And why? Again it seems to me that someone or some group is spreading a lie. that that movie was in wide spread distribution and everyone was watching it in the US.

How about our Muslim friends in the US calling their family and friends and letting them know that this movie only gained air time since they began protesting. We didn't even know it existed.

That being said, I've read comments on NBC.com in a news article that state that the movie is "only representing what we already know about the prophet."

I tend to agree with Salmon Rushdie. The protests that killed a 3rd party are in no way a valid means of expressing oneself. How is killing someone that is an Ambassador to your country justified.

Again I have to wonder if these protests start out peaceful and certain groups infiltrate the protest and start making violent overtures and inciting violence. I'm, of course, Speaking of Terrorists. Perhaps this is the reason that things have gotten so violent over a cheesy crap movie that nobody is ever going to see.
