Is it posible to change the name of one of your computers? Somehow my old Garage Cruncher desktop, is called laptop. I also run two laptops, but would like to change the name.

That is done through Windows and not through BOINC. Every modern Windows PC must have a unique name on the network (even if it isn't on a network) before it can be setup, so likely your computers already have names.

If you still want to change the names, for Windows Vista/7, click on Start, then right-click on Computer and go to Properties. Alternatively, pressing the Windows key + Break brings you to the same place. Then click on Change settings located about mid-way through the page on the right (right across from the line that displays the current computer name). Change the computer name and then reboot.

For Windows XP, click on Start, then right-click on Computer and go to Properties (you can use the same Win+BREAK combo here as above). Then click on the Computer Name tab. Then where it says "To rename this computer or join a domain, click Change" ... click Change. Enter in a new computer name and reboot.
