Prime Minister David Cameron said of the deaths today: ‘What we have seen is the absolutely despicable act of pure evil. ‘The cold blooded murder of two female police officers doing their job out there protecting the public - another reminder of the incredible risks and great work our police service does. ‘My thoughts and I think the thoughts of the whole country will be with their families at this impossibly difficult time.’ Asked if the killings would reopen the debate on arming police, he replied: ‘Well it certainly reminds us, it's a shocking reminder of what the police do on our behalf. ‘There are more armed police officers, there are more armed response units. But this was supposed to be the response to a domestic burglary and that wouldn't normally require armed officers" You despicable muppet! Get off your high horse, leave that ivory tower you keep yourself cocooned in & make changes! 1: Stop cutting police numbers. 2: get rid of politicial correctness - they are a Police Force not a service! They are not there to service us, they are there to uphold the law. 2 Greater Manchester Police officers murdered R.I.P ladies - Thank you for your service to the community |

Prime Minister David Cameron said of the deaths today: ‘What we have seen is the absolutely despicable act of pure evil. You do stoop to the lowest sometimes. Lets blame David Cameron for the death of two police officers. Pathetic. |

that's rather pathetic of you when you can clearly see politicians pumping out soundbites without ever giving the electorate the services they deserve. Armed Forces/Medical Services/Emergency Services all have cuts in finances & manpower, yet they are expected to continue as if nothing has happened. You natives of this one proud nation are despicable, especially when you make/post comments such as that. No wonder many of you have emigrated - Says a lot about your pride in your own country! Edit: 1: Stop cutting police numbers. Yet no comment or offer of condolences on this? Shame on you! |

My feelings about death are my own. I however feel that murder is the most despicable crime that one human can do to another. Personally I never have given my condolences to people I do not know. It has NEVER helped me feel any better when I have lost a loved one. I was devastated when I read the headlines yesterday and was unable to come to terms with the senseless loss of life. What I was criticising you for was making a political point over the deaths of two police officers. Say what you like about who you like, that's the freedom you have. Please just you have some respect. There was no need to have a go David Cameron in the same post as "paying your respects". Also you don't know me, you do not know how I live and what I feel. You make a good point about "natives" perhaps we don't always show our pride at being English. Perhaps as a "foreigner" you would mind not running down your "adopted" country so much, leave that to the "natives". |

I'll be quite frank & honest at the same time. After the last 2 posts, I realised how my post could have & indeed seen as. However, I do not, at any time, post on this board to score political points. Cameron is the man at the top, so the ultimate responsibity is with him, regardless of the actions of his underlings - Bob Diamond, Sir Fred Goodwin & others springs to mind. As already stated, finances & manpower are being cut in essential services yet fatcat bonues & pay are not. Yet what do we see? Del-boy & his cronies in photoshoots with criminal suspects, budget turnarounds & other laughable antics. It's time we got tough laws, judges, magistrates with the police manpower to back them up. What happened was despicable & no one can be sure it wouldn't have happened had we had the law & order we had in the past, but the laws & the police presence we had ensured that incidents such as we have seen over the past several years would be few & far between. Also, the police had the respect of the public. As far as I'm concerned the main 2 issues here are the Human Rights Act & Bleeding Heart Civil Rights muppets. If one breaks the rules/laws of one's society, you put yourself outside that society so those rights have been forfeited & one has to suffer the consequences. It's time we returned prisons to what they are meant for, not 3 star hotels. |

It's time we returned prisons to what they are meant for, not 3 star hotels. For once I broadly agree with that statement. I would like to see attempts made to rehabilitate first offenders to try and get them back into society. However, whoever shot the two police women yesterday displayed tendencies best kept out of society forever. There are time when life should mean life. This is one of them. |

It's time we returned prisons to what they are meant for, not 3 star hotels. Agree 100%. The way I see things at the moment, the UK has a fantastic opportunity to show the world how a nation can regain it's respect & strength. With the world currently sitting on a precarious clifftop, it'll only take one nation to say sod the world, we getting our own house in order economically & politicially, with tough laws & self/communal respect. If that can be achieved then aid to others will available. With the UK being an island & outside the main sphere of Europe, she is uniquely in a position to achieve this - the point is though: - Having the right people in the right place at the right time.... ...unfortunately, we do not & the opportunity of a lifetime will soon pass us by! |

Hmmn, now admits to swearing, but not the words stated. Is this muppet that arrogant? Mitchell did swear, say sources "He is a former soldier who served as a UN peacekeeper in Cyprus in the 1970s". In that case, he should've known better |

Just how stupid do these muppets think we are? "Pleb" Minister receives No 10 backing Everyone seems to be homing in on the word "Pleb".... .....What I want to know & so far, no denials have been issued is...did he actually make these comments? "Mr Mitchell is reported to have sworn at an officer during the incident on Wednesday evening - when police directed him away from the main gate to a smaller pedestrian gate - and said "learn your place" and "you don't run this government". And this..... "Asked about the differences, the spokesman said the PM "obviously accepts the statement" from Mr Mitchell". So if Del-boy was told that the moon is indeed made of cheese, will he "obviously accept the statement? |

Unfortunately, if the police log is correct, Del-boy has put himself into a position that could cost him the premiership & if not, then the next election. Police log in full Del-boy accused of cover up Question mark of integrity in public life This says it all for me...... "But what David Cameron should be really cross about is that he is being asked to draw a line under someone's dishonesty, which I suspect isn't the kind of politics he's keen on". |

I do find this incident a little amusing. Not that shouldn't have happened, but in all honesty calling the constable a Pleb, in classical terms was probably a promotion. As the Police can be identified by number should they be regarded as Capite censi - were literally, in Latin, "those counted by head". Roman society classes were Patrician - the elite familes of Rome, but later included high council officials, Plebeians - middle class, could be very rich, Capite censi - lower class, Slaves. |

It is a a bit more serious than that as we would all agree. But as an aside, in those far off days they didn't have yuppies etc. Whats makes me laugh is that nowadays I am apparently a Group 2 or Middle Middle class!!! Think I probably belong in the same group, but a few people try to put me in the upper middle class. Because I don't have a accent and am U, probably because most of my schooling was in Africa and the parents of the other Brit kids were mainly from the FO. |

Tut,tut Andy. What are you trying to do? Get an audition for Eastenders? Nice One Boris "It is understood Mr Mitchell tried again to cycle the through the main gates the morning after swearing at police who refused to let him through. After seeing this revelation, I'm inclined to believe the initial police report |

Tut,tut Andy. What are you trying to do? Get an audition for Eastenders? I actually believed the police report from the start. Andrew Mitchell comes across as a pompous ass who should be sacked now. |

and he looks, and sounds, as arrogant as he is made out to be. Things just caught up, finally, this time. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |
