I guess your astropulse extimates are still to high.
It needs up to 10 finnished tasks with less than 10% blanking to sort out.

You can switch back to actual settings when it settled.

Yes, your computer processed the ATI units just fine.

Sure it is the few hours a day on the days it actually has any work to do.

So currently I have:
70 cuda units
50 cpu units
and half an ati astro pulse downloaded...

My current work buffer is set to Min 2 days Maz additional 0.5 Days. (per the instruction of multiple forum members)

Changing that to 3 and 3 will fix my 70:50:0.5 work ratio?

Yes, your computer processed the ATI units just fine.

You will not get more work, whilst downloads are not finnished (on hold).

You can go to your prefences page here at seti and increase work buffer.

Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least
(max 10 days). 3 days
... and up to an additional 3 days.

[quote]Currently I have about 40 cuda units, 50 cpu units and 5 ati units.

Are the '5 ati units' only AstroPulse?
Or are some SETI@home Enhanced?

I think you forgot to select ATI SETI@home Enhanced (MultiBeam (ATI)) during the install of Lunatics apps:

I made these selection correctly when I installed lunatics the first time. I reinstalled it yesterday making all the proper graphics card selection(that part is pretty striaght forward).

I recieved 5 setiathome_enhanced 6.10(ati13ati)(yesterday) and completed them quickly. No new setiathome enhanced ati units have downloaded.

Currently a single ati astropulse unit is trying to download astropulse_v6 version 601 (ati13ati) unit....so the fastest processor in my system is just sitting there doing nothing again. Still.

I wouldn't even mind if it only ever crunched astropulse units....but why does it only download a single unit? That guarantees it will run out of work.

Just re run the installer and make sure you choose each application you want to run.

Afterwards we can adjust your settings to get more work for your ATI card.

the ATI card will only run AP WU's natively. If you want to run MB WU's You'll need to use the Lunatics optimized apps

I have an ati hd5770 and a 8800gts in my core duo system.

Running video cards that require different drivers has always been an exercise in frustration.
If youy had 2 AMD or 2 Nvidia cards, life would be a lot easier.

And yet it works. My ATI is crunching an astropulse unit as I type this.

Currently I have about 40 cuda units, 50 cpu units and 5 ati units. If everything goes as it has in the past the ATI units will dwindle down to 0 over the next few days...with long periods of no ATI work.

I understand I could drop a GTX 480 in this machine and call it a day but the wife would want to have a word with me. I have what I have and would like to make it work.

There has to be a better solution than pull one of the cards....

Interesting how it didn't request gpu units the secomd time.

If you request work & don't get any, the client goes into backoff mode with work requests. The more misses, the longer each backoff. As soon as a WU is completed, that backoff is reset to 0.

Well, you found the Event Log:D

Now FIRST 20 or so msgs...

Edit: Please ignore above, you got it.

Who remembers Claggy's advice about Nvidia + Ati machines?

Edit 2: Can't help you with #1-2 but for #3:

Go to your account (link top of this page, second from the right)
Click on Computing preferences

Scroll down to "Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least" and type in the amount of work you'd like to have at hand.
Below that is "... and up to an additional" where you should put something like 0.1 or 0.5 or something like that (just don't ask me why:)

Edit 3: Question to others: Isn't "Running under account" one of Boinc's no-noes?

Message 1272333 - Posted: 17 Aug 2012, 22:58:37 UTC

I have an ati hd5770 and a 8800gts in my core duo system. I put these parts together for seti.

I have run the Lunatics installer v0.40 64 bit on Boinc 7.0.28 on a windows 7 machine. I selected SSE4.1 for my processor and made the rest of the appropriate selections.

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=8249418

I just can't seem to get Boinc to use the ati card. I am not technically savvy enough(apprently) to figure out why. I would perfer to use the ATI as my primary video card(haven't been able to figure that out either) unfotunatly the gts is taxed as my display card.

When I first installed Boinc on my system it did download some ati units and crunched them rather quickly. That being said it only ever downloaded a few units(for the ati) at a time and ran out constantly while the gts 8800 got loads of work. Recently I haven't seen any units for the ATI.

So Again:
#1 How do I set my ati card as my main monitor card?
#2 How do I get Boinc to actually use the Ati card aswell as the Nvidia gts?
#3 How do I keep my que full of work so that when we experience these pesky outages every thing keeps working.

What other info can I provided to get to a solution? Please keep in mind that I am not an IT professional and need detailed instruction.

Thank you all in advance.
