Not Costa but that other well known brand. Special Report - Starbucks's European tax bill disappears down $100 million hole (Reuters) - Starbucks told investors its European businesses made a $40 million (24 million pounds) profit in 2011, but accounts filed for its UK, German, and French units, which make up 90 percent of European revenues, showed a loss of $60 million. edit]MPs to grill Starbucks, Amazon and Google on tax |

Just shows you what the power of the people can do when they stand together. Now if only they would do that against proposed new Tesco Supermarkets, they might start to get the message as well. The peasants are revolting! Costa |

Not so -- there are a LOT of Starbuck wannabees out west. Time Out NY's 51 best cups of coffee I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

Not so -- there are a LOT of Starbuck wannabees out west. Interestingly these "coffee shops" seem to be a slightly "English" phenomena, in New York recently the ONLY place that didn't just sell "coffee" was Starbucks, every other cafe, deli, restaurant, just serves filter coffee. |

Aw, c'mon now, we need the economy to recover sharpish.... ..& the best way to do that is to give the "yuppies" what they want.... ..a nice place where they can insult the workers & look down their noses at the rest, while they continue to fiddle while the UK burns! |

When I was knee high to a grasshopper, my Gran used to offer the Vicar a sherry when he visited. In those days the local vicar always called round to greet new people moving in. It happened to us in 1956 when mum & dad bought our second house. I often wondered how they knew. It was his business to know. After all if you didn't attend he couldn't fleece. ;)

Weak tea is only for Sunday afternoons when the vicar comes round... I rarely drink tea, but when I do it is strong, black, and no sugar. That is unless its Green Tea, in which case it is green.... Normal drink is strong black coffee. Drinking weak tea is like drinking ice cold beer, all you experience is the temperature, not the full flavour. Costa in Totnes Costa Coffee was founded in London in 1971 by the Italian brothers Sergio and Bruno Costa, as a wholesale operation supplying roasted coffee to caterers and specialist Italian coffee shops. It was acquired by Whitbread in 1995, since when it has grown to over 1,700 stores across 28 countries.[3] The business has 1,375 UK shops, 920 Costa Express vending machines and a further 800 shops overseas. To borrow a phrase from HRH the Princess Anne "Naff off" and damn right too! We don't want this sort of stuff sullying our towns and villages. We have enough problems with Tesco and McDonalds in this country without Costs joining in as well. I know that the USA has major concerns with Walmart, what other store chains in other countries are causing problems? Not a happy bunny. Hrrrrumpfff |
