Hi Bernie, hmm, a bit tenuous at best ...

The problem, if that's the word, is that we are a diverse bunch spread across the globe. It's difficult to guess how someone else's mind works.

I am prepared to give a little leeway. :-)

Left hand down a bit
Left hand down a bit it is Sir
Starboard lookout here Sir, we have visitors
Oh lummee its the Admiral
Sir Wibbly Wobbly, Sir Bibbly Bobbly, er, its the Admiral Sir
I thought you'd like to know Lieutenant, that the spare wheel of my car has just fallen in the water.
Oh really Sir? Is that a problem?
My car was still attached to it!
Good grief! Wasn't it on the dockside Sir?
Yes it was, until HMS Troutbridge hit it!
Everybody down!

A link is a link. Some of the fun in this game is the spontaneous link that forms in your mind upon seeing a word. Explaining the link takes the fun out of it.

Platoon = masterpiece ???

I assume that referred to the film "Platoon"

So did I. De gustibus non disputandum est, as Dr. Asimov used to say....

Hi all,
Sorry if my "Masterpiece" was wrong with "Platoon"
Red card for me !
Bernie was right : it was in reference to Oliver Stone's movie and this is the first thing that came to my mind...
I will try to be less fanciful in the future
But I thought this game was more intuitive
Stricto sensu the meaning of the word
Sorry again...

It wasn't wrong Thomas, perhaps I'm just not as good at this game as others! As usual I'm happy to go with the majority view :-)

Chris, I shall also comply with the majority. I'm a noob, I have just landed in the "public forums" and I already get noticed... Oups...

But I have not said my last WORD LINK... ;)

I look at it as a learning opportunity Chris. It is not about being good or bad at the game.
