Hi Bernie, hmm, a bit tenuous at best ...

The problem, if that's the word, is that we are a diverse bunch spread across the globe. It's difficult to guess how someone else's mind works.

I am prepared to give a little leeway. :-)

A link is a link. Some of the fun in this game is the spontaneous link that forms in your mind upon seeing a word. Explaining the link takes the fun out of it.

Hi all,
Sorry if my "Masterpiece" was wrong with "Platoon"
Red card for me !
Bernie was right : it was in reference to Oliver Stone's movie and this is the first thing that came to my mind...
I will try to be less fanciful in the future
But I thought this game was more intuitive
Stricto sensu the meaning of the word
Sorry again...

So long there is a link everything is fine Thomas.
No worries.

Chris, I shall also comply with the majority. I'm a noob, I have just landed in the "public forums" and I already get noticed... Oups...

But I have not said my last WORD LINK... ;)

Thomas, the Seti boards are renowned for the characters that post in them, and who bring a unique flavour and vibrance to them. They are a legend in their own lifetime.

Welcome aboard mon ami :-)

You said a mouthful there, buddy...LOL.

It wasn't wrong Thomas, perhaps I'm just not as good at this game as others! As usual I'm happy to go with the majority view :-)

I look at it as a learning opportunity Chris. It is not about being good or bad at the game.

It isn't free association. I think if a poster has a non obvious link, perhaps a hyperlink to an explanation should be the word.
e.g. [ url=explanation_page ] non-obvious [ /url ]
Saves a bit of discussion here and doesn't disrupt the flow.

Have a question. Should we ask that posters not display their signatures in the word thread? Would get more words per screen for people reading it.
