The jury is still out - they prove themselves when they start handing out work.

I think what's taking them so long is instead of doing things one step at a time they want to start on all fronts simultaneously, including the education angle.

Surely the Devs at Berkeley can tell us whether this is a real project or not?

What that the group that insisted that they could visit other planets and if you donated $20 they'd send you two dime bags? (one for the return trip back, of course)

Wow man! I am Trippin.....
I don't think this project will ever get off the ground, Especially since NASA already
has a Project called PlanetQuest!

"We have the eclipsing binary system classifier running very well, and are now interfacing the circum-binary planet discriminator with the the binary classifier. We'll soon be going straight onto the BOINC platform with this and at that time can release an alpha version of the Collaboratory. The beta should not be far behind with a ready number of testers interested in helping us, and we are shooting for this summer to release the beta test."

I have to agree. It needs to be investigated. Maybe one of the news shows would be interested. The "project" has been collecting donations for years now with no sign of progress. I wonder how they've gotten away with it for so long. I also have to wonder about the motives of people who unconditionally promote such a project.

Any bets on when they'll get around to changing their alpha target date to 2008 and beta date to 2009?

Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws.
