Well, the oldest ticket still open is [trac]#3[/trac] - allow the Manager to connect to a client listening on a non-default port number. That's a bit esoteric, though I do know a user here was trying, and failing, to do that a couple of months ago. So it should be. But like I said, I know somebody - an experienced tester - who tried and failed. The purpose was to have two separate BOINC clients running on the same machine (add --allow_multiple_clients to your first example), but the manager connected to the default (port 31416) client whatever port was specified. |

Yes, but we're not talking about multiple clients here. And neither is ticket #3 asking for it for multiple clients. I have just started BOINC 7.0.31 from the command line with boinc.exe --gui_rpc_port 12345 and in a separate command line window did boincmgr.exe /n localhost /g 12345 /p (my_super_secret_password) and that worked. @all having download problems: using a proxy might help once again... at least it did for me. I couldn't download basically anything thru a direct connection, with proxy most downloads came thru without any HTTP errors and at acceptable speed. |

It is actually Windows 7. I am guessing the machine just went a bit crazy. It has been sitting for weeks without being used. So I'm not going to bother trying to find the cause right now. Main Cruncher Mk3 of mine had an issue similar to that for losing time. Over the course of a few days, it would be off by several minutes. I fixed that, and now still prevent that, by adjusting the "Internet Time" update interval from the default of once per week to four times per day. It syncs to my Linux laptop which is a stratum 2 NTP server. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

Now that all the AP are down the wire and out to play the upcoming outage recovery should not take as long. And, oddly, `nitpkr` and `smallsig` are on today. Though `replica DB` is a age behind. So not everything working perfectly. Which is a good thing cos if it was we would be in for somthing bad and panic worthy. |

I set all of my lab machines sync to my cisco 4500. They are set to do so at bootup and the default windows interval of once a week. For now I'm blaming the leap second. IT people everywhere have been claiming the Leap Second for their issues these past few days... :-( But my GPS continues to be fine. #resist |

A Tuesday outage combined with a national holiday. Typically that means panic time. me@rescam.org |

A Tuesday outage combined with a national holiday. Typically that means panic time. Now the panic can start - no work on SSP although there are files to split, and Cricket confirms that downloads are falling off. And there is a major US holiday tomorrow... A Tuesday outage combined with a national holiday. Typically that means panic time. Looks like Cricket is coming back up starting about 0245UTC. Still few units in the queue, but plenty of files to split. |

MB 'Results ready to send: 1' at 5 Jul 2012 | 19:00:11 UTC (fully updated), with splitters running and tapes loaded. I think that's worth a small panic, at least? |

MB 'Results ready to send: 1' at 5 Jul 2012 | 19:00:11 UTC (fully updated), with splitters running and tapes loaded. Well If it stays that way. I'll panic sometime next week. If I am paying attention to things anyway. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Stupid server code overcomitted my GPU with almost 35 days of work. Settings are just 8 days 4/4. Put flops back after almost 8 month of patience. Panic over. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

And the replica data base is well behind, 86190s almost a full day, Eight and a half hours later (30,600s), the replica is 91,552s behind, so it's lost just an extra 5,362s. I think it's just got a hangover. |
