We have a bus lane that is only operational during the rush hours, at other times you can use it. Non locals however don't know that, so we have cars over taking lorries on the inside, without a clue what is in front.

Its hard to see motorcyclists when they weave in and out of traffic, squeeze in between cars, pass on the left and right shoulders and generally disregard traffic safety. I find that the ones that don't get his are the ones that practice the rules of the road.

Seems to me rich/poor is an orthogonal measure to good/bad, though I must admit to having exposure to a somewhat limited data set (aka "anecdote alert").

N mutually orthogonal vectors span an N-dimensional vector space. It is used to describe sets of primitives or capabilities that, like linearly independent vectors in geometry, span the entire "capability space" and are in some sense non-overlapping or mutually independent

I think you are right with the primitives ...

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

In iran you could get any drug by declaring yourself an addict or by simply walking down to the local drugstore. I recall perhaps one murder in all of Teheran (6 million inhabitants at the time) when I lived there for a year. There was very little crime--only when the revolution came did they start smashing banks and liquor stores.

Sounds like a way to help address not only the Federal budget, but a major help on state and local budgets. They spend a LOT of money on enforcement, incarceration, and judicial proceedings. On top of that, you reduce the amount of money that gangs make off of drugs. That might put a dent in gun sales though.

Absolutely. Drugs for anyone. Just pick up your recreational users permit after you file your DNR order. We'll encode it on your drivers license for DUI reasons. Then we can get busy and slap sin taxes on it all.

...illegal drug money is all the more reason to confiscate it and add it to the general fund at this time...

Gary, the way I see it, Guy made an all inclusive statement and absolutes like that just don't make sense to me so I pointed that out. Now if that is being provocative then I am speechless.

Sometimes you need to let absolute statements go because you know absolute isn't what was meant. Perhaps you did misunderstand the statement to include say becoming rich by confiscating and killing via genocide, but I don't think a reasonable person would make that connection. Of course you could have just asked, including illegal means, but you used a specific example. You baited him. That's my bone with you.
