I note that the top 5 on the list are not anonymous, as the thread states and that number 7 is a top 20 participant.
I could well be on your "hit list" as I had a problem with my main machine a couple of weeks ago.
This thread should be about machines that are causing errors that affect the science, NOT just because it upsets someones RAC. If task are returned late, marked invalid or error, fine, they will be re-sent.
As a result of this thread I am hiding my computers. I do not want people to see what my machines are doing thank you.
If you take a look through the lot you will find plenty of anonymous (the list is in numeric order, not the worse down). ;)
Also you are not in that list but these machines are, or have been, throwing large amounts of invalid or errored results well above anything that would be consider normal (a good look at their stats will tell you this, take
this one for instance).
I'm not that worried about how high my RAC is but I find it a good indicator as to what is going on and when you look at your pending work and see groups of 10-30 consecutive inconclusive results has got to make some people wonder at what's going on.
This is not a "hit list" but it is a list of what are, or were, very unstable machines (25% are affected by the 295.xx/296.xx sleepy driver bug, 20% are running unstable GTX560Ti setups and what the rest are doing I have no idea but a lot probably just need cleaning).
Also as to re-sent work, a lot of this work has been sent to other unstable machines which means that these work units are being sent out to 5 or 6 machines before being validated which puts even more pressure on the database as these work unit spend many more weeks/months in the system than required (some work units have been marked as having to many errors by being given to these hosts so you tell me where the science is in this).
On a side note before listing these I sent out a plague of PM's to those people affected but I only received 1 reply in 8 to those for a grand total of 5 replies.
Cheers.
