I remember when finishing a work unit was quite an accomplishment back in those days. Now we can knock out dozens a day. Back then I was so excited when I had machines that would take less than 12 hours per work unit. So it would get 2 done per day. These days I have a machine that takes 3-4 hours per task, but it is running 24 at once. Congrats Chris. I made 13 years in September, and didn't realise it until I saw this. It sure does seem a long time back. Happy Crunching, Graham |

Search for "Welcome to the 13th Anniversary Crunchers" http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=68006#1229988 Plus SETI Classic = 21,082 WUs |

Come to think of it; there are threads for most years more than about the 5th anniversary. Some are labeled as clubs and some are labeled as anniversaries. Would it be feasible to sticky each of those? Plus SETI Classic = 21,082 WUs |

*packs away rolling pin* Anybody is welcome to post to his 'year group' thread when he/she is past his/her anniversary. If the thread happens to be locked, report it and ask for unlock. As the threads usually stay active enough for the first few months after creation there's no need to sticky them. If you can't seem to find the right thread you can of course open a new one, but a mod might move you to the right one after some digging. It would be courteous to report the post and ask the mods whether they can help. btw 13 years is sooo last year ;) A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

Wouldn't it be far simpler to have just the one thread entitled "Annual Anniversaries" with each poster naming the number of years they have been crunching in their post? That way, everyone can join in posting their achievements rather than having so many threads for the yearly event. |

Wouldn't it be far simpler to have just the one thread entitled "Annual Anniversaries" with each poster naming the number of years they have been crunching in their post? People do that in the Milestones thread along with their credit millions and their thousands of posts. edit: this thread is supposed to be for anniversaries. Please direct furtehr discussions into a dedicated thread. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |
