He's reading the "top GPU" list here I tend to look at the top computers list, where 4 of the top 5 run 590's, 1 runs 680's, and there are NO 570's in the top 20. |

Oh yeah, THAT list... Thanks Gatekeeper! I wouldn't trust that list to be 'absolute'. Too many variables which we know nothing about. How many samples, who's o/c and who's not, fast cpu / memory etc etc... Lt |

Also that list does not take into account people running optimized. It is only stock returns being shown. |

Speaking of the list, there' a Quadro 4000, anyone knows why nVidia Quadro (4000 with 256 cores, etc) and Tesla (C2075 w/ 448c) are so expensive? I mean do they really out perform, say GTX690 w/ 3072c, with stock or optimized CUDA app, if so, how? I am just wondering what the main factor affecting computing performance is, # of cuda cores or memory bandwidth or something else? thx. Pete. |

All good questions! I don't believe their performance scales proportionally with expense. The Number Crunching forum is a better place for more technical questions. Lt |
