Message 1267451 - Posted: 4 Aug 2012, 8:15:09 UTC - in response to Message 1267226.

I have been in a blue funk for a couple of weeks now....due to some background thingys not mentionable here.

But, I am trying to get back to my ol' kitty self.

I have mentioned John Prine before.....and I finally found a cut that brought a smile to my face I've not had in weeks.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Let's talk Dirty in Hawaiian.......

Here's one that helps me keep things in perspective....

This is a long cut..

You ponder what you have done, and I will ponder on my side.

Not sure it can be undone.

John Lennon: Stand by me

Wonderful indeed Julie.

May I add another?

Joan Baez, my truest love, did another version herself.

Stand By Me......

And whilst I am baring my soul and shedding tears........

Let's do go here.

KD Lang...........

God bless her tortured soul.

But, she did sing a wonderful Hallelujah. She did.

If you are not in tears by the end of this cut, may God above bless you.

She is what she is...........
But few voices on this planet could ever do that.

That's also a nice version. Joan Baez was a great singer.

Hmmmmmmm...
I still remember the thrill I first had when I heard this for the first time......
Like yesterday....
I have a mint pressing that I bought just a few days later.....I had a relationship with the record shop owner. He knew I would want it, and he saved a copy for me.....when he had sold every copy he could get his hands on.

Full post remaster of the original vinyl....

Damn...LOL......I just got that feeling again.
If you turn it up real loud and listen to some tracks closely, there ARE things you cannot get on first listen.

Yah know.......this is amazing.

Just now tracking 'That Boy'..

I have a little JBL set on the daily driver, which serves me well.
Just a bit short of the master set.

I have the vinyl master set.
On that one, you can hear the master tape hiss.
And some of the ambiance in the room that Ringo did his drum work in.

Last time I fired the big system up, the cops were here in 20 minutes.
Of course, the little shits were jiving on the lawn laughing.

Yeah, that's all I gotta do.

Send All My Loving........oh, yeah.

If you can, listen real tight to 'All My Lovin'......

Take your sound processor and cut out all you can except the main guitar track.

MC was having real fun with this.......
I don't think he really took the studio time seriously at the time.

He either was just soooooooooo talented (my guess) or he was funning the studio execs.

When he sang on the other hand, I think he was quite serious/

'Till There Was You' is a gem........
