Yes things really do speed up when there are no AP's screwing the pipeline up. ;)

Cheers.

Just checked my downloads- lots of them backing up.
When they do download, they fly. But most of the time they're timing out almost as soon as they start.

Same here they either fail after 4 or 5 seconds or run at hundreds of Kb/sec. To me it looks like about 80 to 90% fail and it's the TCP Connect SYNs that are failing.

Whatever its going to be a few hours before the tyre kicker is awake and has donned his (or maybe in these times of equality, her?) safety boots so the required toe administrations can be made with risk of a stubbed toe in doing so...

Of course if its a holiday in Berkeley then it will several "few hours"...

Don't forget that there are two download servers and one of them usually works pretty well and the other is either very slow or just does nothing but HTTP errors. If you don't have anything in your HOSTS file, the "mood swings" you are seeing where they download great and then instantly time out is probably due to round-robin DNS changing the primary server every 5 minutes.

Just now it looks as if the pendulum that selects which server to use has stuck. On the side of the "less than good" server.

Yup, that's what the tyre kicker will have to perform their administrations to when they find their safety boots.

And like Sten-Arne I'm quite content with life, the only thing I'm a bit short on just now is something cool to drink in the evening, but that situation will be shorted soon...

Yeah, I just tried switching servers. They both give instant errors. Oh well. It'll get fixed sometime today.

Does anybody have a spare retry finger I could possibly borrow,
as mine is terribly sore and I might have to give it a rest ;)

I think that little yellow fella was having too much fun and got one of his webbed feet stuck in the works.

Looking at the cricket now, I can see traces of someone doing something at the lab.

We may be at the end of the tunnel. (For this time. There will for sure be other even darker tunnels in the future)

Yeah looks like the first uptick in the graph.
