Actually organics taste much better. Taste test yourself. Get an organic green onion, get a regular green onion. The regular will be larger, have more moisture, be paler in color. And the organic will taste a lot more like green onion.

And guys, if you think we need this junk in our food supply, then bon appetite!
I am done with it. And I will continue to request that we clean up what IS in the food supply, because in my opinion it is not necessary, safe, wise, nor prudent to corrupt our foods.

Kosher meats actually took it 1 step further, discarding anything further back than the 12th rib. I still consider a rump roast and some other parts just fine eating. And that trim is just fine for pets. Not in my ground beef.

I bet you can get a nice package of slime for around $1.20/lb and add it in yourself.

Careful what you continue to request soft. If we made it illegal to sell foods that are not organically grown (fertilized with only the finest cow poop), are free from pesticides, washed only with pure, clean, fresh water, with no preservatives added, and of course, make cow anus illegal, I'm not so sure that would lead to a healthier, happier society.

(bu by all fast food restaurants and small farmer's markets, hello $50 hamburger, $35 pizza, and the $10 hot wing.)

I never asked for it to be "illegal". I asked for it to be HONEST. Tell us, and let us decide. You will see large changes in consumer habits.

Pink slime is not "ground beef". And care to explain how $5.99 chuck roast dropped in a grinder equals $50 for a hamburger? The math is not there. Unless it is a REALLY REAALLY BIG Hamburger.

Preservatives are not cheap. They do little to keep costs down. Genetic modifications are dangerous and a byproduct has been new and improved viruses.
Shmeat (lab grown "meat") is insane, but approved by the USDA. These are a few
of the great things that come with no oversight or regulation( or about the same, regulations quietly tampered with through corruption).

If you want cow anus, buy cow anus. If you want cow pie, buy cow pie. Just label it. "factory produced hormone enhanced anti-biotic laden genetically engineered cow anus". Help yourself.

If the restaurant label laws on calories and nutrition information are any indication, you might see a 1-2% change in consumer habits. The $ is by an order of magnitude more important to >90% of the population.

Taking a recent viral restaurant review, Olive Garden, in looking at their nutrition information, there is not a single item they serve that my physician would approve of. Yet they are a successful operation.

Another indicator would be McDonald's. Under pressure they introduced a lot of sides besides the "evil" french fry. Most of their orders are still for french fries. In places now they are being forced to offer kids meals without fries. BTW there are items on McDonald's menu my physician would approve.

and yes, I am aware salt is a natural preservative. As is pepper, and many other spices.

We also label things that contain salt. So people can choose.

Exactly. For me the issue isn't safety or nutritional value. The issue for me is the misleading labeling. This stuff should not be allowed to be called "beef". As I mentioned in the past, I think it should be called "highly processed beef product" or something along those lines.

Then there'd be some honesty and trust at least. People could then make informed decisions for themselves as to what they want to eat.

Calling that stuff "beef" and allowing it into "ground beef" without people truly knowing what it is, is just AWFUL.

If they cared about good for you the high salt, high fat, high sugar crap wouldn't be for sale. If they cared about pretty why would they have all those grades for beef? Heck, they should ban prime meat as having too much fat content.

I do not think it is too much to ask that they ensure I do not have a massive science experiment masquerading as meat.
