Sorry for the confusion, guys. You might want to review the list of qualifications you offer - I have none of those listed (or their equivalent) so I can't even get off page 1 of the survey!

Sorry for the confusion, guys. In answer to one query, the U of M iSchool and the Cal iSchool consider each other "sisters". This in a very competitive manner, mind you. We seem to exchange both students and profs. Really, though this project was suggested by a PhD student here at the School of Information who worked with Dave Anderson on BOINC and thought it might be a good idea. As far as getting some cs undergrad to throw something together, well yes, we could have done that. Personally, I would have just put up a drupal site with a survey module and been done with it. Still, that would have taken more time than we have. And, unfortunately, as often happens, the prof suggested Qualtrics and off we went. Tchau, Brennan |

I asked David Anderson yesterday, since they posted the same on the BOINC forums. It's legitimate. |

<meta name="Description" content="Survey Software, Enterprise Survey software for enterprise feedback management and CRM solutions. Enables high-quality data collection, panel management and results analysis. Perfect for market research or CRM solution (Customer Relationship Management) integration. Free trial and consultation." /> This looks like a business to me not students. I recommend caution here.

ummmm not so much. First off UofM school of informatics doesnt use that address. http://www.si.umich.edu/ Notice the difference. Unless they are using a 3rd party to conduct this survey, I'm a bit suspicious. In fact, if you strip the ip down to qualtrics.com You'll see it is a 3rd party data ERRMMM mining Service. Lets also not forget to look at the bottom of the page at Qualtrics ERRMMM University. Really a University that sounds like you are learning tricks about quality. To the UofM grad students. Get a computer geek, I'm sure theirs at least one or two at the UofM, to setup your own questionaire and have it directly linked to your school not some off the wall site. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Site looks legit. But what are Wolverines trying to do with a Berkeley project? |

We are a group of graduate students at the University of Michigan studying the user experience of the BOINC interface. We are trying to get more information on BOINC users and how they use BOINC and other technology. This survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. Please answer the questions to the best of your ability. All responses are anonymous. At the end of the survey, you will be given the option to enter your email and be entered to win a $20 Amazon.com gift card. If you would prefer not to give your email, it is not required. Thank you. We are hoping to use this information to make recommendations on how the interface and data display might be improved. We might like to make it easier to join teams and projects as well. Basically we are trying to evaluate the existing software and using your thoughts to formulate these recommendations. To that end we have put together a survey that, if you have time, would greatly help us in our research: http://umichsi.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_6ygsHVxvzUbamB6 Hey, plus there might be a $20 Amazon gift card in it for you. Let me know if you have any problems with the link or the survey. Thanks much, Brennan Hildebrand |
