As of this DTG you will immediately proceed WITH kitties to S@H HQ, when you WILL deploy said 'kitties' to resore order to S@H server mieces, which are running rampant and causing a rapid decline of RAC.

Cheers,
Cliff,

Oh noes! AP is about to be completely split, and MB is being slow with a lot of tapes. The end is near for those of you who still need APs. It's going to be DAYS before new tapes show up to get split. [/semi-sarcasm]

You aint the only one whos somewhat less than pleased.
I spent hours finishing off ALL the damm GPU work in order to reset s@h, got it done, restarted sent sched request... All I get is GPU work, no CPU work which is what I need..

In addition this damm daft boinc manager reads local prefs from a project I'v disconected from. Had to find and delete the climateprediction local prefs:-(

Also, guess what, its set CPU tasks at a minus priority..

[anyone know how to overide boincs priorities?]

So who knows when I'm now going to get the CPU tasks I need to test that boinc isnt going to kill CPU tasks as it did before...

ARRRGGGHHHHH..

Cliff,

Make any small alteration on any project that you are connected to and it will override the old settings on the defunct project web settings.

Regards,

There is no such thing as climateprediction local prefs, local preferences are set by your Boinc Manager, just clicking 'Clear' and 'Yes' gets rid of them, (in Tools>Computing Preferences in Boinc 6.12.34)
The Computing prefs in use is set at the last project you set them, ie in your case it was probably climateprediction, if you change the Computing Preferences at Seti, then update the project in Boinc Manager,
Boinc Manager will show it's using Computing Preferences from Seti (known as a Global Preference, ie set once, use at all projects)

You scare me. I'm at work, and since they've disabled task viewing I can't see how many AP's I have downloaded. Now I'm not going to be able to concentrate on my work.

Crap...

don't worry! Now your rigs should just to schedule a lot of APs. You will easily download them when bandwidth been free because of lack for new WUs generation...

Message 1199259 - Posted: 24 Feb 2012, 15:41:44 UTC - in response to Message 1198857.

The one thing I found interesting is that if everything goes into project backoff, one or both of the downloads in progress might continue and if one finishes it takes the whole thing out of backoff early.

If you've got the bandwith, you can have more than the default two transfers at a time. In your cc_config.xml file:
<max_file_xfers>n</max_file_xfers>
<max_file_xfers_per_project>n</max_file_xfers_per_project>

Can you give us an example of an cc_config.xml file after you add the lines?
Because i try it, and client reply with an error at the file.

How's this?

<cc_config>
   <options>
       <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
       <max_file_xfers>4</max_file_xfers>
       <max_file_xfers_per_project>4</max_file_xfers_per_project>
   </options>
</cc_config>

I'll try that the next time I touch the computer. Thanks.

David

I, personally, doubt you'll like your system behavior better with the BOINC CPU tasks running at higher priority, but you can set a currently running task's priority higher using Process Explorer or Task Manager, which might be a good first step to investigate the behavior. To get a priority that will be used for each new instance of a particular executable, you may find Process Lasso suitable. (you can wildcard the matching specification, so might not have to revise it each time a new science application is installed).

Regards,

Mine does this if I set "connect about every" in prefs.

I use 13 + 10 to push GPU's into HP mode to force it to run shorties, when I do so it quite often stops asking for CPU.

/me think the splitters should be renamed to "SPLATTERS", or "SPLOTTERS".

Or imposters.

Requests for work result in "Project has no tasks avalable" messages, network traffic has just dropped off.
Ready to send is 0, result creation rate is 0. And there's a lot of red & orange on the Server Status page.

See the new post in News. Work production is turned off due to a problem with the new table.

[Edit] Just in case that passed people by, be it known that in Australia "first Tuesday in November, they run the Melbourne Cup" (a song by the Hawking Brothers that I can't find on utu.be) -- one of the richest horse races in the world. Concomitantly, on the morning of the first Tuesday in November many Australian radio stations play a classic Spike Jones and his City Slickers track, which is based in part on the William Tell Overture by Rossini (To the ... etc) [/Edit]
