Think "hindsight" is the wrong word! too many companies including gov offices have jumped on the premium rate bandwagon. I suppose that's one way for phone companies to cover their pensions for their former employees without reducing their bank balances.

Actually with most premium rate phone lines the majority of the income goes to the company or person setting them up. BT levies a charge based on the number of incoming calls you receive. Remember I worked for a company who's whole business plan was based on revenue from premium rate phone lines. Granted BT do take a cut but it is by no means the lions share. Or of course Virgin and Cable and Wireless and any other registered telecom provider

That sounds like a rather discriminatory comment to me, are you suggesting that disabled people are abnormal? A very unfortunate choice of words, able-bodied would have been better, as would "require less room". And in any case what has that to do with tickets?
Political correctness at it's worst!

Not sure I see your argument here, Chris has pulled you up for suggesting that the use of the word normal to describe non disabled people was discriminatory and you cite "political correctness". It's not "political correctness" to see disable people as normal it's pure common decency.

I assume you didn't quite understand what Chris was saying, I also assume you don't view disabled people as "abnormal"

Why do you always have to see the negative side of things...

You seem to take great satisfaction in posting all that, in your eyes is wrong , why can't you look at the Games for what they are and ignore the politics for once.

Or is that your sport?

Maybe in Rio they'll have an event for whingers, you might have more than a good chance of getting on the podium.

No wonder we have so much incompetence, corruption, fraud when all that people want to see is "The good life"......that was just a BBC comedy!

Checks & Balances friend, or are you another that hates seeing your "country" rubbished? If so, stand up & do something about it!

Yes I suspect it was a "jobsworth" and ordinary steward not a politician or a LOCOG organiser. Someone in higher position would have realised that what they were saying was at some point going to be viewed as discrimination.

I think there is still a long way to go before everyone "treats other people, regardless of race religion, ability as they thenselves would wish to be treated".

Sorry, the Royal Mail got it right. Also, have a problem with that report. Team GB consisted of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland & Wales, so how come a Northern Irish Athlete competed for Team Ireland?

Out of touch again with the real world I see. Amazing what some emails can do ....

Gold Box

Disagree! He competed for a foreign country so Royal Mail should not have done it. It was his choice to compete for Ireland rather than Team GB.

OK, we will agree to disagree then. I am still pleased he got his gold box, a gold medal is a gold medal, whichever team you compete for. I see someone is British for this week.

Oooh, a cruncher without any principles...how nice.

Are there any of our institutions left that actually stick to doing what they
say they are going to do?...Why did Eire not opt to pay to have it painted gold
themselves?
