New Act of Union? "Mr Fabricant, whose Lichfield constituency in Staffordshire is regarded as "middle England", said: "I think in a generation from now there will be more calls for independence for Scotland and, indeed, independence for Wales." Not going to look good for the English then. |

How about independence from Scotland for the Isles. Orkney Islands see Scottish referendum as chance of freedom The Orkney Islands have been part of Scotland for more than 500 years, but it is a mark of the distinctive culture of this green and windswept archipelago that many locals still do not think of themselves as very Scottish. |

New Act of Union? A senior Conservative MP says a new Act of Union giving the four UK nations equal powers would strengthen the country. Utter rubbish...they have been given greater powers already yet they still want more. Any further new act will not stop this demand for more powers in time so the best thing to do is give each country total independence and send them on their way. No halfway house, your in the union, two smoking sheep and a haggis, or your out....no in betweens. I do wonder if the real problem around this want of independence is more to do with gaining control of immigration hence stopping multiculturalism from taking hold there like it has in England. If the yes vote wins we should put the sixth verse back into the national anthem. God grant that Marshall Wade May by thy mighty aid Victory bring May he sedition hush And like a torrent rush Rebellious Scots to crush God save the King Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Shouldn't be allowed. They want to break away they do so with no ties to the rest of the UK. They shouldn't be allowed to have their bread buttered both sides! |

Ah but Sir Sirius, that would mean no more Knighthoods for the Scottish governments cronies....and you know how much these cronies crave having a Knighthood.
