Hey thanks Alex....appreciate the "new" moniker I'm hijacking from you....

Salmond condemns UK's "Lord Snooty's"

I love it.

He said the ballot would be a once-in-a-generation chance for Scotland to turn its potential into prosperity.

Do you understand this Scotland, "A once-in-a-generation chance"........
.....meaning if you vote NO, then you'll have all this independence issue to
go through again in 30 years time.

Naw Nick, it's their only chance. 30 years time, all of Europe including us will be controlled from Brussels (read that to mean Berlin & Paris}.

Naw Nick, it's their only chance. 30 years time, all of Europe including us will be controlled from Brussels (read that to mean Berlin & Paris}.

Nay....them canny Scott's are up to something here? Once the haggis goes on
the march then there's nothing to stop it over-running Europe hence taking
over full control. The haggis first tried it on by marching south but took
a nasty pasting off the British sausage. Lesson learnt, so soon it could attempt
a new assault on Europe via the eastern coastal waters with a swift landing
in France. The European sausage is tooooo soft, it ain't got no grissol so
can't stand up to the haggis when swished around. Once France is over-run then
it's on to Brussels next, upon being conquered it gets renamed "Neeps"
Germany then capitulates else suffers the consequences of having whisky doused
into it's beer. Scotland now in control of Europe but only for a short time.
On seeing Scotland totally undefended, the British sausage marches north and
with little resistance Scotland again becomes part of the UK. Our queen
now becomes queen of Europe and re-adopts the old royal name of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha
and declares her self Emperor of Europe. I knew them Royals were up to something
fishy, always got one of them up there in Scotland, month in - month out.
The Queen of Europe now declares an absolute monarchy and all Catholics have
to change religion or face burning at the stake. The Popery gets dissolved, the
Vatican city get pilloried and all then burnt to the ground, you know - the usual
sort of things Monarchs love to get up to.
Russia becomes worried so thinks it might be a good time to bring back the Tzar,
but clearly he's suffering badly from anorexia?? and wont last long.
America, never one to be out done, declares that it has had a Monarchy for many
years at that Rock Hudson was it's first Queen, ooops sorry, first ever King.

Yes so as one can see history does like to rhyme but some!! never seem to
remember how the rhymes always seem to end with the same line..."Blooming disaster"

p.s. Paris (France) is nearly broke so with no money in it's pocket it has
nothing to call the tune with.....now there's trouble!!
We know that America is applying quite a lot of pressure in trying to get
the ECM to sort it's finances out. The American economy depends a great deal
on the health of Europe. If Germany did finally take control of Europe then I
feel it would be with the blessing of the USA government behind it. If it came
to this then where will the UK be in relation to the ECM? On the outside, at the
insistence of the USA, but with all privileges afforded to it as if it were a
full member.

Dunno what you were on Nick, but it seems powerful stuff, can I try a glass of it?

No, it seems I had the last of it. Mind you, I did find myself on the roof this
morning upon waking. Neighbour she tells me, "It was only a glass of red wine that
I gave you", oh yea?

Message 1297527 - Posted: 21 Oct 2012, 10:56:09 UTC - in response to Message 1297502.

After decades of (some, not all) Scots droning on about it, there is to be a vote on Scottish independence. It is going to be a straight yes or no question. In or out, with no shake-it-all-about option …

So, while the Nats will ask Scotland to vote yes to leaving the UK, that independence now means signing up after 2014 to joining a burgeoning EU Federation and handing over to Brussels many of the powers the Nats say they must have back from London to be independent. Oh, and simultaneously they want to keep using sterling, the currency of the rest of the UK which is run from London.
It is a very strange kind of independence.

Strange indeed!

A reason why some of us here scratch our heads over it.

Hey Alex, you been on the "hard stuff" all night, because it seems to have addled your brain cells!

You want an independent Scotland to be part of the "nuclear backed" NATO Alliance, yet make Nukes illegal? What next? Make it illegal for "sassenachs" to live in Scotland?

Nukes to be outlawed

He's got to create something worth living in Scotland for first before he could
ever adopt "that" type of policy. It could be the other way around and that
he bans the Jocks from escaping...ooooops sorry..... moving south.

Then maybe Butch can introduce new laws as well....

As Scotland achieved independence, visas will be required for all Jocks to come south with the visas only being for a maximum of 30 days.

I wonder how Scotland will evolve under independence? But I bet a million
Scottish pounds that they'll forge closer and more amenable ties with the
UK for their going to feel very isolated on their own within the ECM.

Didn't realise that there were any CND dinosaurs left....

Faslane Base

Nice start to the independence movement......

"He said the loss of Faslane would leave a large hole in Scotland's economy with the loss of 6,000 jobs and associated economic benefits."

Politics has nothing to do with it. Peaceniks want the freedom to do what they like, constantly forgetting that the freedom they have was paid for.

Also, Scottish mnisters are being hypocritical - No nukes but want to be part of NATO which is a nuclear backed force...... in other words... NIMBY's!

How charming!

Well, the loss of jobs is actually nearer 14,000 when peripherals are taken
into consideration. To me, since the situation of independence for Scotland
will always be an issue, even after a vote of NO, should in my mind give the
UK government all the reasons necessary to move this installation elsewhere.
To Wales would be fine since they could do with a boost to jobs by 14,000.

Born in Darjeeling, but still a Cornish East Coast Scot. Went to school at Johnshaven, between Aberdeen and Montrose. Can I vote?

We can both vote in the referendum if we move back to Scotland and are living there, but then so can anyone living in Scotland at the time. I did check to see if I could vote from afar.

Does being born in Darjeeling give you another nationality? You can never have too many passports as far as I'm concerned.
