Looks like there are problems with the Scheduler or feeders again. Plenty of work ready to go out, but outbound traffic has dropped right off & almost all of my requests for work for the last couple of hours have resulted in "Project has no tasks available" messages. It's times like these i really miss Scarecrow's graphs. Grant Darwin NT |

My cache is dwindling also. It's only a few hours from "full to the limits", to "empty". I remember the days when my cache would ride out any difficulties, but we seem to be a ways off from that. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

I don't think I have any cache problems yet, but I seem to have lost a disk drive on my main machine -- hopefully just a mislodged SATA cable but in the meantime I'm up and running on the C: drive, which luckily hosts my seti@home folders! |

My caches are still holding up well so far. Cheers. |

Dunno if it will give us some relief from the shorty storm or not, but I do see some slightly longer tasks being issued for my GPUs. Fingers crossed for luck. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Does the project play favorites? Seems some people have no trouble getting WU's while others get nothing. |

I doubt that SETI is playing favorites. But on the other hand I have not seen anyone attempt to explain why different host computers can get all the work they want and others get nothing. Since the bandwidth is maxed out anyway there seems to be no interest in persuing this problem. Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

I doubt that SETI is playing favorites. I don't think there is anything other than random chance in what a given work request by any single host will be issued. Faster rigs will of course seem to come out on the short end of things because they crunch up what they do get faster than a rig that might be satisfied in a single work request. Even easier if the GPU runs VLARs as well. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Yeah, the Crickets are looking a little sick, and not many presents being offered by the scheduler lately. My top rig got 1 task in the last hour or so of work requests. Guess we'll just have to get along until the holiday is over and somebody can set things aright in the server closet again. Not seeing enough GPU work here, but to cut a long story short I've come back home to have to do a BIOS reset & BOINC has defaulted to giving me EAH work which I did not want at ths time. |

Just observations from an obvious Seti supporter. You'll know when I get to whining, complaining, griping, or panicking....LOL. So I wasn't sure where to try to ask for something to happen with this one particular WU.. but a lot of people read this thread. I have this one that has been "stuck" for a while. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=784726080 _0 missed the deadline, so it got sent to me, and they completed and reported before I did, so _0 and _1 got validated and credit granted, while I'm still "pending." Been there since August. I realize that I probably won't get credit for it, which sucks, but I would like it to go away. The validator has to get kicked on it or manually validated. Nothing you can do. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

I've got a workunit on my results page that has been there almost 2 years. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=565654746 |

I've got a workunit on my results page that has been there almost 2 years. This one is different. All got credits so it only has to get purged and assimilated. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Something's certainly borked. Most requests for work result in "Project has no tasks available" messages. Grant Darwin NT |

Yeah, the scheduler seems to be a bit tangled up. But, across 8 rigs, I seem to be holding fairly steady for the last few hours. Not gaining much, but getting just enough work to keep going. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |
