Give me more work.

Right now I have 1 machine that has all CPU work and nothing for the GTX460 and the other has GPU work and none for the CPU.

Well, it looks like they've sorted the upload & Scheduler issues.
Results are uploading with no problems, and work is being allocated when requested.
No if only *the* proxy still worked so i could actually download all that has been allocated.

Just out of interest:
A task is just a number of values.
What decides, if it is assigned to a gpu or cpu application?
Both can calculate the task.

This question didn't get answered in the last thread.

That decision is made by your client, asking for work for the GPU or CPU respectively. If you ask for GPU work tasks are assigned to be run on the GPU by the GPU app. If you ask for CPU work the tasks are tagged to be run on the CPU by the CPU app. At least on SETI, because the task can be crunched on either resource, a 3rd party program can actually move tasks between the two resources, known as rescheduling.

Which unfortunately can muck up DCF values, as Boinc then thinks the tasks have truly been completed by the originally assigned resource. Oy vey.

Two boxes, same GPU cards, very similar CPU's, connected to the same router and same modem.

One box has been able to download around a 150 units and has another hundred pending and downloading at a slow but constant rate. The other has 70 units, 25 backed up and is in constant "Project Backoff" mode (currently @ 10 minutes) as 90% of the downloads fail with HTTP errors.

Why ?????

Just tried it and works for me. However I was only getting 5-15k on transfers. Where I am getting 25-30k without the proxy.

The one above just died here. However, it downloaded all pendings before it went.
Now using 69.163.96.22 8080. Works well here, and is in California too.

Approximately 18hrs after the task was assigned...

Hammering the retry finally got it completed, should be finished crunching in a couple of hours. And a look at the server status page says astropulse is done :(

No proxies needed here anymore and since the outage the uploads and downloads are flying through at rates that even the proxies couldn't attain.

Cheers.

Ditto here. Been downloading/uploading solidly for four hours or more.
Well done to somebody over there at Seti.
