Just to be sure you all understand my opinion here I trust the explanation given by NASA, I just don't quite understand it, not being a photoshop expert. What got me was that news agencies actually gave the wild explanation air time.

Not really PhotoShop (of which I do have some experience) but it is a software artifact.

Think layers and subtracting one from another. And likely right, not Photoshop but a Linux image manipulation application.

I think this is dust unseen by the Messenger space craft that is orbiting mercury. The dust would not show until the CME slightly elevates the dust temperature a bit to make it visible in mercurys lagrage points where the dust would concentrate. A ship of any sort wouldve been noticed by hi resilution cameras aboard the space craft.

What I think we all need to do here, which I see a little lack of.
Is respect for the opinions of others.

If someone believes in UFO's, we should be civil and respect that.
If someone does not believe in UFO's, we should be civil and respect that too.

After all, Someone having a different opinion then ours should not have,
any effect on our own lives anyway.

I personally have an open mind, to the possibility of intelligent life out there.

The universe is pretty unlimited place, and filled with an un-countable
amount of stars, planets, asteroids, etc.
So it would be arrogant of humans to assume Earth is the only planet,
to have or sustain intelligent life.

As for that "ship" orbiting Mercury, I am skeptical of that "artifact" theory,
but I am not 110% percent convinced either, until I see more solid proof.
At this point I am leaving my opinion as "plausible", for reasons I cannot
mention here.


By the way, For those of us that are in the United States,
I will remind you, this is a free country, we all have the right
to our own opinions.

Having opinions, offering others your opinions is all fine and well.

What you seem to fail to understand is that there's a difference between challenging someone's opinion in search of fact and being disrespectful.

I'm perfectly open to the idea of ET existing out there in the galaxy as well. But I'm also open to the idea that they are not out there.

It's fine if people want to believe that aliens are actually visiting our planet currently, but, as said before, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

How else do we find the truth if we are unable to challenge one's opinions and conclusions?

If you think someone is delusional. uneducated, or mis-infomed do you respect them? Or do you try to see where their beliefs lead them into contradictions or implausibility; and point these out.

Yes, we should be civil in our discourse; but, I don't think that all opinions and beliefs have validity in fact. Nor should we abet ignorance or beliefs that defy common sense or experience.
