Ugh, that sounds horrible Fred. No not that kind of bug in AKv8b ;). Something like that would be noticed already. It's a minor computational logic issue that could cause inconclusives sometimes. That sounds more like a nuclear malware meltdown. Jason "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. There's likely to be an updated installer very soon (within a week or so), Mostly for a minor bug fix in the CPU apps, so you might want to hang tight for that. I experienced serious problems, with 2 (SEAGATE 500 MByte HDD's), reïnstalled a new (SAMSUNG HD503SB; 500GByte; SATA II), for ther O.S.(WINDOWS 7;64bit) and 2 data drives (HD103SJ); 1 TByte, also a 1 TByte USB 3.0 back-up disk. (Also installed the so called: ReadyBoost, which works, if you (can) use a fast (>133MByte/s) SD card. Isn't the AKv8 code also used in the consecutive installers, except v.0.38g? I stopped running SETI ATI-GPU, rev.177 and rev.365 for MB. and rev.521 for AstroPulse. Except 2 HardDrives gave out, work lost, Back-Up on USB3 Disk made a mess off it, couldn't even install on the C: drive ?! Maybe this entrance in WinREG: (K:/BOINC_DATA & K:/BOINC_Program, was still present?) It clearly interfered with memory, (HDD/CASHE) and CPU usage, but far more memory-use, for example Rosetta@home, 725MByte RAM is used for 1 WU (Mini-Rosetta) I now use, besides 8GByte DDR 3 1600 DRAM, a 8GByte ReadyBoostCache which works, if you use the fastest 8GByte SD cards, >266MB/s, is necessary. Going to install SETI@home on this rig, again, Optimized for ATI GPU and CPU, too, ofcoarse. Also Resume Bêta testing/trying out on FERMIs and ATI(AMD) Well, I'll wait for the new Installer, then..............?!

Thanks, I will probably keep checking for the updates. I am happy with my RAB but I think I can improve it some more without having to resort to buying a new PC!

As I know, there aren't any other optimised apps...

OK guys and gals, what is the best optimiser for the current version of SETI@Home. I am looking to help increase my output without false positives and I would like some advice on what you consider to be the best and easiest to use. I was considering using the optimisers from the Lunatics website. http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php Anyway let me know what you think :)
