Just looked at this. Guys like Sun, Intel, Fujitsu and Google could easily donate that sum. Why didn't them? Each of them can donate more than all Crunchers together.

Or a little rack space and bandwidth from the guys at SGI right down the street. They'd never even feel this project running full steam on some of their rather sizable capacity.
