The BOINC download server is offline, and will remain so for a day or two while we effect repairs. @SETIEric@qoto.org (Mastodon) |

Will do. I expected it to be back today, but that's looking less likely. The restore of all the BOINC downloads is dragging on. @SETIEric@qoto.org (Mastodon) |

I see it's back. Good work. Just when I was thinking I should see if there are any new projects I feel like giving a bit of time to... David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

The BOINC download server doesn't have any WUs, only the BOINC installers. The SETI@home download server, however, seems to be down indeed. ;-) Gruß, Gundolf |

I've had no downloads for almost a week. Is it me or something with SETI? I've seen no mention of issues. Other BOINC projects are downloading to me. Thanks. |

I am not sure if it is down or what since I cant seem to upload my work either it just keeps deferring the work. From the messages I am seeing i would say it is still down while they do some sort of rebuild to handle larger numbers. That is the last 'news' on the site. |

Is it down??? Looks like they have rebooted some things and are trying to start back up now. Stay tuned. And watch the Cricket graphs. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

A follow up to this message. I found later that I had inadvertently disabled SETI on BOINC by incorrectly toggling the (No new tasks/Allow tasks) on the project. Once this was corrected, and after repeated attempts yesterday, SETI finally downloaded some work units. My thoughts are that messages about and wordings for these toggle buttons in BOINC could be clarified somewhat. For example, when the Update button is pressed, a message to the right of the active project could more clearly state that the user has suspended the connection process for this project and needs to reverse the suspension using wording more succinctly than what I just stated. |

I quite agree about the buttons. It's a boinc issue and I don't know where the right place is to talk about it ... but the place is not here in Seti News... |

Well, sorry if this is not the place to post Bonic problems but someone needs to address this issue more clearly and give us a thread to follow for the on going Bonic/Seti problems. Bonic and Seti have been down in my area (Washington State) since Aug 2011. I may get a download (rarely) but no uploads. I have cancelled jobs, deleted the software and reloaded it. The problems have never been fixed, at least from my location. I support the Seti project but if the problems are not addressed by someone and a thread isn't created to keep the average user posted then the outages will cause many casual supporters to leave the project. Sorry for the negative post, but that is the truth of things. |

The problems have never been fixed, at least from my location. There are MULTIPLE threads on the "problems" that have occurred and are occurring relative to S@H. You'll find them in the Number Crunching forum. In any case, BOINC and S@H have certainly not been "down" since August. If you really haven't been able to connect (well, but you CAN connect, you're posting here), then the problem is most likely on your end, or with your ISP. Since you've chosen to hide your computers, though, we can't see what's going on. The occasional deferral is normal, though. And, the proper place to post things like this is in Number Crunching. |
