Gripe: It's nothing to do with Boinc 7.0.25, it's to do with you running 295.73 drivers, the 295.xx and 296.xx drivers have a sleeping Monitor Bug when connected via the DVI port, once the monitor goes to sleep the Cuda device becomes unavailable, then the Cuda app jumps into CPU fallback mode, runs very very very slowly, then errors with maximum time exceeded, upgrade to the lastest 301.42 WHQL drivers, they have the fix, Claggy |

Gripe: there isn't a sticky thread warning about the 295.xx & 296.xx drivers like Einstein have had for the last three months, Kudos: We're not overwhelmed with Sticky threads any more, Claggy |

I upgraded to 7.0.24 a few days ago. I don't know if it's related but I now keep getting messages LOST TASK and ERROR ALREADY HAVE TASK. This seems to be happening only on my CUDA machines. Am I losing credit for all these WU's. Also uploading seems to handle only a limited number of WU's and takes several uplaods. Bob B. |

Am I losing credit for all these WU's. Also uploading seems to handle only a limited number of WU's and takes several uplaods. It's not related to the version of BOINC you're using: there's a small server bug at the moment, which strikes like that if you report more than 64 tasks at a time. It won't affect processing or credit. If you want to persue it further, it would be better to post in one of the threads dedicated to the problem, like Unannounced Server-Side Change?, rather than this special one. |

How do you get 64 tasks, I'm desperately trying to get more than 4 but nothing seems to work. And every few hours I'm on the net getting more tasks. I'd like to spend less time hunting and more time just crunching.Who has the answer? MaxG. |

Max, I see you are running the new 7.0.25 BOINC. Did you swap around your keep enough work for......days and keep enough for .....extra days? I know I'm saying it wrong but I hope you get the idea. They've changed the way BOINC asks for more work. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Gripes: Installed an Nvidia card last month. Not a single AP other than those destined for my hardworking P4 CPU. Got 2 in the oven right now thanks to hyperthreading. Further gripe. Those that turn on their computer just long enough to gather tasks then shut down. All we wingmen can do is wait for the sucker to time out. I wish they'd just abort it and we can get on with our work. Kudos: All the volunteer testers and Lunatics types. You make all of this bearable and restore my faith in humanity. Do you even realize how many people you have helped in these forums (myself included)? When we find ET you all deserve a special plaque acknowledging your service. We're just hardware out here, your helping us to make it all work. Doug |

mumble mumble, seems like I'm getting the same credit for a 25hr project as I get for a 2hr project, ???? thought the credits were based on work units, don't really care but like to see the stat line climb. Bob |

All your CPU times are fairly consistantly between 20,000 to 23,000 secs, it's just your Run times that are high, so something else is using CPU time and making your runtimes long, Valid tasks for computer 6148131 Claggy |

No gripes - just quibbles. What about a setup where I have a system that could be doing GPU crunching. -Proper latest driver installed. -Proper Boinc client is installed. -Proper optimized client is installed. -Checkboxes in BOING manager properly selected. Yet, no GPU crunching ensues. Just CPU crunching. Is it a lack of GPU work units or is it a problem on my end? |

Yet, no GPU crunching ensues. Just CPU crunching. Is it a lack of GPU work units or is it a problem on my end? There's no shortage of MB tasks, and they aren't "wrapped" as CPU or GPU until your work request is filled. Wrong thread for troubleshooting, suggest you open a thread for that. And, tell us which computer (I can guess but it's best to be specific), if you have venues set for your computers, preference settings, etc. Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. |

Gripe: Can't seem to get my hands on an astropulse. Oh astropulse, where art thou 15hrs of crunchy goodness? Kudos: Despite the terrible luck with the leccy giving the lab fellas untold grief lately, things are going swimmingly. Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |
