Not sure if anybody will get in to the lab to attempt repairs over the weekend or if we are in limp mode until Monday.

+ an additional hour for some of us...[sarcasm]Thank You, Ben![/sarcasm]

I am really hoping that at least one step is taken during tomorrows outage to get closer to a goal of raising the limits. Being able to build a cache would be wonderful about now.

Well, my best rig has just crunched up the last of the Seti work in the ol' biz bag.
Now you know why the kitties have been stumping for higher cache limits for the past few weeks.

They are now downloading a bit o' Einstein to occupy them whilst Seti sorts.

I still have a few CPU units to crunch, but the GPU's are dead empty. If my CPU runs out, I'll switch to Einstein also.

I was just building a head of steam before this happened. At least when the gates are opened, I have corrected any and all problems on my end.

I am in total agreement that I would like to see the limits raised. The way it is now, every tiny outage or issue causes me to run dry.

I have Einstein enabled with a 0 percent project share. It just waits in the wings as long as Seti is crunching. It did not download anything until the last GPU WU for Seti had completed. And it runs on GPU only here.

Mark, if you find a pulsar over at Einstein your life would not be worse.

Mark, I hope you have a good internet connection. At 32MB a pop, there can be quite a wait between 'request' and 'ready to run' for those Einstein GPU tasks.

How's 1M/384K DSL then? Yeah I'm also on Einstein, One AP out of two errored out on the gpu and the other took 2 hour and about 45 minutes to do, maybe cause of dust, I'd have to pull 2 cards to tell, maybe on Tuesday.

You'll get the work, no problem, but at that speed it'll take around five minutes (rough estimate) to download each task. If you set BOINC only to request work once the last SETI task has finished, then the GPU will have 5 minutes to thoroughly cool down before heating up to running temperature again. That's quite a thermal stress cycle.

Right now my GTX560 and GTX460 mostly backup on Collatz with an occasional Einstein thrown in. The HD5830 also uses Collatz as the backup.

Down to a single CPU astropulse.....the computer room seems cold.
