Message 1159557 - Posted: 6 Oct 2011, 21:29:48 UTC - in response to Message 1159556.

Guess what I just got?

AP task, I know. I've got one myself half an hour ago :-)

I want to know if anyone manages to get a Nvidia/ATI GPU AP task, or doesn't get one.

Claggy

I'm monitoring. Got a 'tasks for CPU are available' (like last night) about an hour ago, but only 'no tasks available' since then - so, inconclusive. I'm about to apply some beer to the question, which may help.

Is it just me, or are we having problems uploading again?

My "work" PC managed to upload all completed work on Tuesday (after trying for a week), and managed to get some new tasks, even GPU tasks which it hadn't before. However, as of yesterday morning it has completed all and is again unable to upload, even when trying proxy 72.52.96.30, which did work a couple of weeks ago.

It isn't just you.

My machines are checking-in regularly with completed tasks, but no joy with uploads

As I am not working (driving) tonight, and I have got a couple of Wychwoods Hobgoblin's within easy reach, I will also be keeping an eye on things.

I'm not seeing any problems here (yet?)....its all running fairly well. I've only just finished a Hobgoblin, myself!

I gave up trying to guess what will happen when aterations, modifications or corrections are applied around here a long time ago, it seems safer to watch and if needed take any action required.

Apart from that, with my work its not often that I get the chance to have a quiet drink.

The caches here are filling nicely and still no limit messages yet plus a few astropulse units have also sneaked in.

Cheers.

If the scheduler has been fixed, I'm still not getting any gpu tasks on either of my machines.

There's some around, I have been getting mainly CPU's but have had a few GPU's.

Things are ramping up nicely here too but I don't know, you two, what's wrong with a nice Foster's or three?

Yeah, only kidding (the UK flag is misleading; I'm an Aussie...). Never met you, Iona, but Kolley and I go way back, to when a mutual friend was still alive...

Anyway, happy crunching and full caches to all very soon, I hope.

What's that? There's some astropulses being handed out? I'd like a couple please :)

I want some, too! It's funny, every time there's an apparent shortage of APs and nobody gets any, I just randomly get 10-30 in one request within 20 minutes of completely going idle. We'll see if that happens again.

There's definitely been a quota change of some sort. My CPU+GPU tester jumped from the steady 450 it's been holding all day to 500 with a work fetch timed at 18:39:07 UTC

That matches the cricket spike: so, of course, those 50 tasks are still trying to download.....

Latest: my test machine (quad CPU plus single GPU) reached 502 tasks while I was down the pub. Anyone care to deconstruct a quota out of that? Trying to download them now...

PS - 'retry download' allowed new work fetch. I've got 504 now....

I have been getting some but less than I have been processing, so my cache is dropping, almost all are for CPU, very few for GPU, 4 AP's as well.

With the setup on this machine "To Completion" times are far enough out (CPU to low, GPU to high) that rescheduling is a viable option.

I've hit the quota of 600 (200 for quad CPU + 400 for single GPU) That's it for now.

Who the hell is General Failure and why is he reading my harddisk?¿

Yes, I've seen no sign of any further step on the APR cap issue - understandable, and wise, given the current chaotic state of the project. I'm parking that one.

I'm still trying to monitor:
Anon_plat quota issues.
Work fetch for stock GPUs: zilch, at pub plus 2 hours.

PS @ preview: Zeus, thanks for that - makes sense.

The only risk I see there is getting flooded with VLAR's, but with 28026 and x39e its now easily possible to run them on GPU's.

Its time for bed, shall see what I have downloaded in morning.

I see that my full task list is now visible again.
Either re-enabled, or the purging of the DB is having it's desired effect.

Not having mentioned it, I'd assume the latter, but who knows...

I noticed it was back on this morning. Matt mentioned it in his Tech News update.

AP not validating slipped through the net, sorry. Either staff notices or it goes on the next installment of problem reporting.

Any bets on when staff is going to go 'Oh no, not again' when email from me turns up in their inboxes?

Lesson to be learned: Once you start doing a job (because it's neccessary and nobody else is doing it) everyone else will gratefully think it's your job to do...

/me not modest? whatever gave you that impression?

Welcome to the club, LadyL. I'm in a similar position with several organizations I belong to.
