Sorry, forgot the last two lines:

30-9-2011 16:04:15 | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed

Tom

No problems uploading and reporting over here:

Router issues or am I just lucky ?

WHile my browser can get into the download and upload servers, it seems BOINC is unable to make the connection.

I can't upload, got twelve tasks on a 5 and a half hour (at the moment) project backoff :( But then again it's Friday, sometime today the gates will be opened for the weekend. If they don't due to me mentioning it, then I take no responsibility whatsoever :D

SETI Sucks

No, can't be right. If SETI Sucked, there would be uploads.

Never Mind.

I think if it had been a simple router re-boot that would have happened by now. I just hope they haven't had a "Smoke Quantification Event" from some vital bit of equipment.

Keep the functionality of the system at this level for a few more weeks, and so many impatient "instant satisfactionalists", would have left, that the current level of functionality would be more than enough to those of us who are still here.

LOL

I think, if Arecibo is still used, a fiber optics connection between Berkeley University,
SETI@home Lab and Arecibo, would solve all problems, but some(one),(company),
(filantropist, or astromoner, just won 100 Mil., etc., is been able to help.......!?

Joking aside, problems remains, too little bandwidth, for a Million hosts, 'only' 10
times 100Gbit, will cure that. IMHO, which, ofcoarse, can be wrong...

I'll try to keep all 3 QUADs and 1 I&-2600(+2x HD5870s), running, since the weather is no longer "compatible", with something we called a "summer", as we
did know it and turned into a 'rainy-season', by half november ot'll freeze, out here!

Niagara Falls just arrived here. I'm getting tons of new WU's, and the download speed is exceptional at the moment. Go get them while it lasts...

Same here, on 2 PCs.

If that did happen the intermittent faults would stop cos the faulty box will be dead, dead and gone, and then things can move on.

Why not make a lottery?

The winners get an exclusive access for a limited period of time to download WUs and a couple of days later exclusive access to upload the results ;-)

My chances to get at least some WUs really finished are then probably much higher than under the current circumstances.

I know... my account shows over 200 WU's in progress. But in reality they're bimbeling around in the down- or upload queue.

I think there should be at least two different threads in this forum regarding the current "panic mode" issues.

One for people having really problems and another one for people who like to celebrate the successful download of 5 WU's or more ;-)

This would have from my POW two key benefits:

(A) I would only read the complaining thread as my (and some others) S@H-situation just belongs there. We could build up a Moaning Society, share solutions (proxys) etc.

(B) The Ladies and Gentlemen who are (again) able to connect and proceed as usual could do the celebration in their own thread without making me (and others) jealous or nervous. If I'm really after such feelings I can still go in and read there.

Nevertheless I don't have a clue why a message like "I could download x WU's in less than x seconds" gives any added value to a "panic mode" thread.
You're freaking out cause you're able to down- and/or upload?

Of cause, it was meant to be a joke. But when I think over it again... hmmm

About the same here, but Niagara Falls...??? I'm in The Netherlands, WUs are being DOWN-Loading to my I7as I write this and 4 other rigs, do have some work, not enough to crunch trough out this weekend.

(Therefore I've 'Back-Up Projects') or half of the hosts are swithed
off, cause of the heat and my AC Unit, needs cleaning, if this can be done yourself, which I seriously doubt, since 'warranty already has expired', should check first, ofcoarse, but Ínput -Filter, is hardly recognitable as such, DUST IS
a MOJOR PROBLEM, in this over 170 years old building!!!

This (dry) wheather and heat, will only cause more dry dependend situated
situations, like a fire!!!

But have left my rigs running, also used the I7(-2600), ripping 12 CDAs to
MP3 (320Kbit/sec.) and playing them afterwards, no problems, ofcoarse!
(True "Multi-Tasker-Machines", running all 8 (4; with HT=ON) cores and 2
HD5870 GPUs, capable of running 12 SETI@home or Bêta tasks, at the same time, but "ripping CDAudios to MP3, with 320Kbit/sec. (160Kbit/sec/channel),
playing them, while other are being 'ripped'.
Visiting the SETI@home WEB-Site and look for results on SETI MAIN and Bêta,
often have GPUz is open, Explorer and/or TaskManager (Source View in VISTA &
Windows 7, reachable through 'Task Manager'.
Process Explorer, down-loadeble through any Micro Soft WEB Page, available for
32 and 64 BIT Windows(2000; XP; VISTA; Windows 7; {Windows 8*}).

{Completely besides the scope of this forum: I like music, often 'older music',
f.i. bues, old Stones, Who, Q65(Dutch-Band;1965)Shocking Blue(I knew Mariska
Veres, also installed a ORANGE Sound_System, 32x 1000Watt Amps and Speaker Boxes, 120, 2 meter high Klipsh Horns for each channel and MID and
High(band). (We needed our 'own' Power, cause this iland just hadn't enough).

But 3, 1 small 16PK (10KW/h) and 1 160 PK (~100Kw/h) and needed for full
power a 480PK ~300KW/h, engine/generator, worked fine in this case, the 1st and last, always work 'together', also a safety requirement.
Since it's warm, sometimes too hot 20C to 28C, absolutly crazy, not only the last days of september.................???}

Sorry, I reaaly must be gettin 'old' , sixty years on this beautifull planet, of which
I've seen far too little, to try and comprehent a better and 'larger' picture, in my mind! But isn't always easy ;^).
