Aaaaaaand, we're back! Well, at least uploads and reporting are working. However I got a "limit on tasks in process" when requesting GPU work. I have none on board...

Hmm.. maybe there is something wrong with the S@h server settings?

I get always this message, BOINC have ~ 1,600 GPU WUs, but nearly all shorties, BoincTasks say this could be enough for the next ~ 3 days (yes, with <flops> ;-) ..

A pity, that we don't get an update in the TechNews area about the set limits.

Just noticed..
At some threads the first message isn't displayed.
For example at this thread, also the sticky HE connection problem thread.

Mistake during update of the forum software?

No. That's what happens when users post in the wrong message boards - like posting general questions in News message boards, or technical queries in the Cafe.

Our long-suffering Mods try to find a suitable home for these lost posts. If they move a post into a thread which was created after the mis-placed post, then it becomes the new 'first post'. But in both the threads you mention, the original first post is still visible - no forum glitch at all.

Update on the Limit message I received earlier. I have not since seen the message, and have downloaded a handful of WU's. All crunched and returned by now though :(

Message 1144945 is the first message I see here in this thread (because of my (still the default, not changed of me) forum settings).
If I press show all messages, then the normally first message of arkayn is displayed as message #2.

The HE connection thread, Matt's post is then as message #4.
Maybe because of this all this misunderstandings in the sticky thread?

I someone look to a new thread for him, the thread have 100 messages, the forum settings are show max 75 messages, he will never see the first message because of an other older message was moved and then the newer/first message of the thread is then message #2?

The forum mods should look to the dates of the messages, that the opening message will not moved to/as message #2+.

Cricket looks pretty flat, yes.
On the upside, the validators are working through the backlog.
What's worrying me is that the assimilators haven't been keeping up since Friday.
SSP is green though.
And my traceroute dies after two hops.
I'd say the server is fine, it's link to the outside world is dead.

Somebody kicked the router (or whatever was bellyup).
Up- and downloads are working again - now it's just the usual maxed out bandwidth problems...

Looks like whatever was kicked just kicked back.....everything is stalled again.

Not sure it's the servers....seems to be the connection to the outside world.

No new AP's for 10 days now, but I refuse to change anything. My RAC will drop to the lowest ever when my last AP is crunched in about 16 hours, but I will refuse to change anything and start running MB, except on my ION GPU.

No MB's for my q8200 or CPU on the ATOM. I can be more stubborn than SETI.

I will now start picketing the US embassy in Stockholm, for delivery of AP's.

LOL

you're not alone. ever since the advent of Astropulse, i've more or less completely stopped crunching Multibeam. i've supported the project on and off since November of 2000. but ever since the prospect of discovering more than just "little green men" (for instance pulsars, black holes, etc.) became a reality through the implementation of AP, i didn't have to think too hard about making the jump from MB to AP...

...of course there's nothing in the literature that specifically states that the MB side of the project is incapable of discovering anything other than E.T. but i would imagine non-E.T. discoveries are far more likely to be found in wideband AP signals than in narrowband MB signals.

now i may try to download some MB tasks just to see if i can snag some AP tasks along with them (as opposed to just trying to download AP tasks only)...otherwise its back to MW@H for the GPU until S@H AP tasks are flowing again...

I'm helping you since I can't fetch work now - uploads have been stacking up for 90 minutes now. Odd - SS page hasn't shown any naps, but Cricket shows uploads have dropped off. OOPs, just droppped the rest of the way. I was able to download my remaining tasks while unable to upload.
