Has anyone noticed the number of Results returned per hour figures? It's been around 65,000 for some time, now it's up around almost 100,000.
That's a hell of a lot more than the usual 50,000 or so.

The graph shows the inbound line/data is more than it normally is as well. Must be all of those shorties.

I don't know what is going on here. Both of my boxes have been asking for work since Tuesday and as of now I have received exactly 0 work units.

The forum wasn't reachable the last few hours?
Or it was only my ISP?

Must have been something with the entire web server, as the only thing I could reach was the Cricket graph. All SETI and even Beta pages were down. Oh well, seems to be working now :)

As far as I can tell, it was the Space Sciences lab that was down as the regular Berkeley site was still running.

same here...i would imagine lots of folks aren't getting work right now - at least from the Astropulse side of the project. i've never seen the number of AP results "ready to send" grow so high before...according to the server status page, there are almost 30,000 AP tasks ready to send. that number rarely eclipses ~8,000 or so. usually AP work is hard to come by, which is why the number of AP results "ready to send" is usually a very low number and new tasks come few and far between. but the number of AP results ready to send has been steadily growing for the past few days now...

Perhaps I'm not the only one that has turned off AP in prefs until the time estimate problem clears up. I hate to think what those estimates would do to my CPU work fetch. Will resume AP when I hear an "all clear."

i should clarify that i only crunch S@H AP GPU tasks, and not CPU tasks. i never de-selected AP in my preferences b/c my production hasn't been affected by the "time estimate" problem for as long as its existed, which is for quite a while now...nevertheless, my client has been unsuccessful in fetching any new AP GPU work in the last ~36 hours.

Hmm, the server status page hasn't updated in about an hour. Hopefully the boys can kick the server before they take off for the weekend...

Asks for work for days, get nothing, still happy, refuse to whine :-)

END

Edit, added: Come to think of it, if I don't get any work by Sunday evening (local time), I might start some mini whining.

I already have a mini with a gearbox that whine`s,
it works ok so i dont bother myself about it.
O, and plenty of seti work as well.
It will be better when this shorty storm is over,
I blame it on those pesky solar flares we`r getin.

Anyone got any theories on the the MB Results recieved in the last hour numbers?
While there may be a lot of shorties out there, there arew also a lot of VLARs. Even in the past with a shortie storm it hasn't exceeded 75,000/hr. Since the last outage it's averaged almost 83,000/hr & has even reached 105,000/hr. It normally doesn't go that high except for after the upload server has been offline for a while, and that is just a brief peak- not a sustained period.

EDIT- it's also reflected in the Master DB queries per second. Usually around 500/s, it's been hanging around 850/s.

Looking at the 90 day Scarecrow graphs, most numbers appear near the average, except result turn around time is presently at 50 hours, near half of what it normally is. And of course the results per hour.

Interesting to note also that AP in the field has dropped from 200,000 to 130,000 in the last couple of days. Even more interesting, my AP only machines have been unable to get work for the last couple of days.

??

With all these VLARs i'm out of GPU work on one system, and not far behind on the other.
Bring back the shorties! Or better yet, something in-between.
